Not long ago, a listener wrote in to the Massively Speaking podcast and asked why no MMOs besides Guild Wars 2 and its elder sibling had adopted the clearly superior buy-to-play model. Little did that listener know that Funcom was already plotting an end-of-the-world scenario complete with a conversion of The Secret World into a -- you guessed it -- subscription-free, buy-to-play MMO. Massively's long been a fan of the year's sleeper hit, but after the conversion (and Amazon's insane $15 sale), you have no excuse not to check it out for yourself.
The rest of this week's top MMO stories are off beyond yon break.
