November 15th is an inauspicious day for Star Wars MMO fans. Veteran gamers will remember it as the day SOE launched Star Wars Galaxies' infamous New Game Enhancements, better known as the NGE, which inserted themepark elements into the beloved sandbox and caused an exodus of players. Seven years later to the day, Star Wars: The Old Republic will undergo its own enhancements in the form of a massive free-to-play conversion and 1.5 update that hope to reinvigorate the shrinking playerbase and repair trust in the development team, which just split up with Mythic.
I'm going to resist the obvious Han Solo "good luck" quote and instead point you toward the rest of this week's top MMO stories, tucked handily behind the break.
