A must-stop on the Lord of the Rings Online
tour is the former home of one of Middle-earth's most infamous inhabitants. In a recent journey, One Shots
submitter Carolina stopped to take a picture of the finger-painting Gollum left behind:
Here is a warning picture I encountered while exploring Goblin Town in Lord of the Rings Online. Proceeding deep into the cave shows you this sign that something terrible lies ahead.
Personally, I think Gollum could have had a great career doing his own portraits. Check out this and several other terrific entries after the break.
Reader Connor has amassed over a thousand hours of play-time in the original Guild Wars
and wanted to preserve his journey by sending in a few of his favorite shots. Here's one of the Shiverpeak Mountains that wouldn't look too out of place in Guild Wars 2
-- if you squinted a bit, perhaps:
Joey was in love with Star Wars Galaxies'
space game, seen here in the next One Shot: "I took a friend who was on the trial of the game with me into space on my YT-1300. We ran a few missions, with me as pilot and him in the top gunner seat, and had a blast. I can just look back at this screenshot and remember all the great times I had in the MMO."
Do you like incredibly hairy feet? Have a fetish for giants? Then very-disturbing-you, you're in for a treat. Niieh from Belgium took this picture of the Grand Prankster in EverQuest II
, an event NPC who apparently appears only around April Fools' Day.
That's it for now! We've got the new LotRO
expansion coming out next week, so I expect to see more than a few pictures from it by the time we meet again.
Want to be featured in a future edition of One Shots? Send your favorite MMO screenshots to firstname.lastname@example.org, and don't forget to include your name, the name of the game, and a description of the scene. Large, colorful, UI-free shots that tell a story and really show off the game make for the best images. Look ma, we brought back One Shots!
