But as this week's headline for Ask Massively explains, these are not actually beta impressions. Instead, this is a column covering a couple of the weird issues with our new comment system, something that I have absolutely no doubt will come up again later. If you'd like to have a question answered in a future installment of the column, send it along to ask@massively.com or leave it in the comments below. Questions may be edited slightly for clarity and/or brevity.
Michael asked: I noticed all of the sites articles are showing as zero comments. I went back a few days in history and articles with comments after you click through are showing as zero comments too. I checked many articles, and its no longer possible to leave a comment. Has something been broken or am I just missing the obvious big comment button?
If you're running Firefox, the new Livefyre comment system doesn't like to play nice with the existing coding, and it has a bunch of code that gets hung up on things like NoScript. You may have to allow certain scripts to run for everything to show up correctly.carson6300 asked: Can it be true? Can it be that I am no longer going to be called (Unverified)?!
If you're running Opera, we're aware of the bug, and we've passed it along to the tech side of things. Hopefully that won't take much longer to be resolved.
Everything else I can't be certain about, although I know comments were working and showing up reasonably well in Chrome.
Yes, the new comment system does not share the previous system's bugs, glitches, and generally odd design choices. It instead has an entirely new set of bugs, glitches, and generally odd design choices. So I look forward to answering questions about why the system is tied into social networking and why we didn't rebel against the new comment system, oh, at least once every other month.
Looking for some advice on which class is best for soloing in Aion? Not sure who this Raph Koster fellow is? Curious about the release date of NCsoft's newest MMO? You've come to the right place! No one knows MMOs like we do. If there's anything you'd like to know about the MMO genre or the site itself, Ask Massively is here to help every Thursday afternoon. Just ask!
