If you're heading out to PAX East next week and your dance card is getting full, you may want to save a foxtrot or two for Perfect World Entertainment's booth. The company has announced that it will be showcasing two of its upcoming titles to those lucky few who make it out to Boston.
At Perfect World's booth (#736), both Neverwinter and RaiderZ will offer demos so that players can see for themselves whether these are games worth anticipating. As if the early glimpse weren't enough, participants can discover special loot while they play that will transform into real-world prizes. Perfect World will also hold raffles for the chance to win gaming equipment.
Senior Vice President and General Manager of Game Publishing Yoon Im sees these two games as the most exciting of Perfect World's future lineup: "We are proud to showcase RaiderZ and Neverwinter at PAX East. Our strong partnerships with developers worldwide have allowed us to expand our diverse portfolio of impressive free-to-play games and strengthen our position as a leader in the business of online games. Both RaiderZ and Neverwinter are looking spectacular and we can't wait to show them off."
Massively will be on location at PAX East with an in-depth look at these games!

@Zuljundwumn That's a D&D 4e-style Blue Dragon since the game (originally claimed to) uses the D&D 4e ruleset.

While sporting the Perfect World name is better than Cryptic... I still don't think its enough of an improvement to interest me.

I don't get why people hate Perfect World.
They have some good games. I enjoyed Forsaken World a lot, Rusty Hearts seems cool. I played the alpha of RaiderZ (thanks to Massively, btw) and thought the game was really good. At least early on. ACtually, to my surprise, I thought RaiderZ was more interesting than Tera. I was really disapointed with Tera from CBT.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing more of Neverwinter and RaiderZ

@(Unverified) And PWE doesn't nickle and dime you like Nexon.
Now on the topic, I won't pass any judgement on the Neverwinter game yet. Even if it looks dated to the games coming out this year Cryptic has proven that it can make pretty fun games. STO being one of them despite the limitations to the architecture.

@(Unverified) Yea I also found Raiderz combat and questing alot more interesting than Tera's.The only thing to me that Tera did better was the graphics otherwise yawn.

I'm a big fan of the Neverwinter series; I hope it translates well into MMO; while the only MMO I care about right now is Guild Wars 2, I will keep an eye out for this one.

RaiderZ is a poor mans version of Tera. Literally it is a stripped down version of the game and the lack of character diversity really irks me. That is my problem with Perfect World, generally they KIRF whatever the new trend is in MMOs, make a watered down version of it, and try to make as much money as possible.

@darzin Perfect World did not develop RaiderZ, they're simply localizing it.
But I actually liked RaiderZ more than Tera. I thought Tera was so generic. I hated the quests. I spent 20 levels doing nothing but kill quests, looting stuff and going back and forth A LOT for talking to npcs.
The environments didn't help either. They lacked detail (and I don't mean technical detail, but artistic) and I was dying to see something else other than green plains and generic forests. I'm sure there are lots of different places in the game, but it was taking too long for me to see it. I just don't think a game should take that long to become interesting.
Both RaiderZ and Tera have good combat in my opinion, and Tera's get better as you get stronger and acquire more abilities. My only complaint is with the dodge that doesn't interrupt abilities. You have to wait till the animation is finished.

@darzin RaiderZ is still in alpha state. Also, it leans more toward skill based than classed base. You can mix skills from different tree to create your character instead of having to stick with one class. So, in theory, RaiderZ is a lot more diversed than Tera.

I am waiting to see how well The Foundry (from STO; for building user-created content) will work for this game. User-created content is what made the Neverwinter series so good so, to me, that is a critical success factor otherwise it is just another Swords and Sorcery MMO with the unique features of being set in and around Neverwinter (now ruined city within D&D's Forgotten Realms) and using D&D 4e ruleset.

I am rather worried about this IP since Cryptic is the studio making it...

I hope this will gain Raiderz more attention online. Thanks to Massively, I was able to get involved in the test, and found it fantastic. Go see it if you can at PAX.
