@Maseno

I sure would hope the dev team is focusing on more important things for the game like actually fixing the UI and making this game playable by 2012 standards.

Not working on a feature that less than a quarter of ffxi players even touched and an even smaller percentage that did it longer than a month....

Chocobo racing/ breeding sure will bring all those subs back /sarcasm

Lol, chocobo racing and breeding would be the only reason I would play this game with a sub. F2P and I will give it a whirl any day.

Every patch has been delayed. Of course it'll be delayed as well.

Fix crafting so it's fun. I want a recipe book. I want to know where to get recipes..not have to scrounge through the internet and write them down. Fix the terrible pricing model...why am I paying $14 for one character slot...and then an additional $3 per month for each additional character I want to create. I really want to give the game another try but make it normal...make it playable. Fix what's there and stop adding more and more content.

@JohnD212

Just from experience alts are simply not needed in this game, since you can level all jobs on a single character.

Besides all the attuning and building of character you have to do it would be impossible to do anything in game when your splitting your time between 2 characters.

@JohnD212 Huh it costs 10$, total, not sure where you got your 14+3 nonsense, plus you dont need to spend more than 1 char as youget 2 retainers giving you a hefty 300 more inventory on top of your base 200, cant go wrong with 500 inventory slots, lets see that in any current game lol.

Crafting is being fixed, There is already a recipe book, you get recipes from quests...

Things are fixed, seems you're just ignoring it for some odd reason.

@JohnD212 Adding more content is one of the things this needs, I've never heard somebody complaining about a game adding MORE content. As stated already, people are going into this game with the wrong attitude about characters.

This is not an MMO where you need to have 12 different characters to really experience each kind of class. It's the same as FFXI where you have your ONE character, and it can experience all content and all classes. The only reason I could possibly see you wanting more characters is if you really really wanted to try another race, which is essentially a purely aesthetic choice. Even then, it'd be a terribly inefficient way to play the game, leveling multiple characters.

@shojikareza Yea. After reading this article and how people are stereotyping all of EVE's community in the other article, I'm realizing Massively somehow attracts a lot of it.

@odericko Err, not to say this article is ignorant. It's well written and respect Massively staff. Just applies to a lot of readers on this site.

To be honest, when it comes to FFXIV, everyone but the players and what few people follow the news are pretty ignorant about the game. It's not just on massively; it's pretty much everywhere.

Can't blame em tho, it's not like SE is actively promoting it. Can't expect people who were disappointed on release to keep following the game a year later.
