I was a big time nerd for daggerfall.

When morrowind was scheduled to be an xbox exclusive i bought the xbox for it.

I never regretted that purchase at all.

I bought the Dreamcast back in the day for one reason only, Shenmue (I so wish that title would come back)!

I am also considering buying a Playstation 3 though it's more for a company that only makes playstation games. I love the title by "That Gaming Company" and play them whenever I get a chance while visiting my friends, they are normally short games but they are vastly different from your standard game and focus more on the emotion of the player then levels, gear, kill count, etc it's all about the experience. Their most recent title Journey is just an amazing game, now there is a style of gameplay I would love to see as a niche MMO (I'm joking of course... or am I?) ^_^

No I don't think I would or at least it would have to be something totally spectacular for me to be tempted to, which hasn't happened to date.

During the time I have had a computer it has been upgraded naturally when things have broken or it was just falling a little behind the curve in the way of performance generally. Don't recall specifically thinking I need to upgrade for game x, y or z.

Psp for final fantasy dissidia, an excellently over the top game. Sunk days into it.

I bought the PS2 for God of War
after that I enjoyed many other PS2 games thru the years, but it was mainly an impulse purchase for that one game.

There isn't a game in this universe that would make me buy a console..but there are a few games that would make me buy a PC.

Even though I already have a gaming PC and my PS3/360 are essentially dvd players at this point my above comment still stands.

"Buy a new PS3 and get Dust514 absolutely free!"

They should sell the system and give the game for free then since that makes more sense.

I doubt it will still have people running out to shell out money for a new system though. I wouldn't do that.

I have done this, recently. I needed an upgrade to get good performance out of SWTOR and I needed a new PC so I built one specifically to be able to play that game.

I've upgraded my PC simply to play 1 game over the years. The first time I went from 4 MB ram to 32 MB Ram to Play Diablo multiplayer. It only required 16 MB but I figured I would go to 32 MB to future proof my machine.........for 5 minutes.

As far as consoles? I've owned a few but never purchased one for the sake of playing a single game. My purchases were usually fueled by the desire to play a multitude of games on the system. I currently do not own a PS3 and if I hadn't gotten one by now, then Dust isn't going to make much of a difference. The real shame is that a PC release for DUST would of been ear marked for purchase in my game budget. But maybe later down the road.

In 2006 a trailer was released at E3 that was so super omfg cool I rushed out to buy a PS3 for the game, it was stated to be an exclusive. SIX YEARS later there has been NO word on this game except two new trailers, nor a release date. Instead the company has released sh***y games like FFXIV, FFXIII, and FFXIII-2 when all I want is-

Final Fantasy Versus 13 - The game I was born to play, game will save Sony, game will save Square and FF, game will define the PS3, game is the Christ
All these mmos and single player games to me are fodder, just to bide my time til I can play Versus, and once I do I can die in peace, my life will be complete

Yes.

On console, PC, handheld, and even a few "other" off-types.

Again, a good game is the main objective. Give me a good/great game, especially at launch of a device. Of course, I would even buy one after launch if a great game comes later or is unique.

No. I also get tired of the "just buy more than one system!" argument that I often hear -- I have other things disposable income needs to go to. I'm tired of console exclusives.

Anyone that buys a PS3 or 360 6 or 7 years after they've been out should be slapped by the cashier.

Buying/Building a new PC or upgrading an old one for a game is something totally different.

A PC can do a million and one things that a console can't and never will do so a PC is a by far better investment. You can't upgrade a PS3/360 to run any better other than buying some Monster HD cables.

If anyone is looking for a new console just wait for the Wii U or till the next gen Xbox/Playstation come out. Otherwise just build a PC.

Not only are the PC's better but building one and learning the in's and out's of them is a great learning experience. If you're young and you learn how to build a PC it could jump start your career if you choose to follow that path in college.

Besides..who would want to play an FPS or RPG with a game pad when you have the precision and speed of a mouse and keyboard. Not to mention the ability to have endless keybinds. :)

Last time I checked PS3 has one of the best bluray players in their systems on the market. They actually were losing money on the consoles because the bluray player cost more than what they were selling the console for. It is still a good investment if you want a multi-purpose bluray.
