XLGAMES' new fantasy sandbox is a big deal in its native Korea, of course, but it's also looking to turn a few heads in the Chinese market. ArcheAge has a strong presence at this week's Tencent media event, and XL has revealed that its devs are working on a new "main city" that features Chinese culture and architecture inspirations.
Additional Chinese-themed content is coming in the "near future," according to MMO Culture, and it will include costumes, dungeons, maps, and events. ArcheAge recently closed the book on its fourth Korean closed beta test; XL's upcoming CBT5 phase will coincide with the first Chinese beta.

While I am normally excited to hear news about ArcheAge this one seems rather strange to me for some reason. It kinda of reads like "An Asian MMO will have Asian inspired cities in the future" that's kinda of like reading "The next theme-park MMO will have questing at some point in the future."
Eh maybe I'm just tired. ^_^

Haha, I KNOW RITE, because Asia, or "the Far East" is one place of people who all look alike, have the exact same culture, architecture, foods, languages etc XDDDDD

There are European / western looking medieval and / or victorian cities architecturre already.
There is desert-like / middle-east / central-asia architecture as well.
So it is just normal that there will be Chinese one as well...
Have an open mind.

@Comrade Domovoi Nice attempt at twisting the comment into something it is not, never did I say there were exactly the same nor do I believe such. But I admit there are similarities (and for good reason) in the architecture we see in China, Korea, Japan, Thailand and lets be fair I am sure when you say Asia and ask people what visual image comes you mind you will get a response that covers those architectural styles and rarely that of say Russia or Iran .
I admit I should have said China if for nothing more then to avoid people who try to twist things into a negative view on race and culture.

Real "inspirations" would be designing your own architecture instead of copying more Chinese. Howard Roark just shrugged in his grave.

@nhat Archeage is also copying western architecture. It still isn't interesting.
