Cool. I never understood why this wasn't in more games. I always find it weird that we're essentially required to go to outside channels to do things that are otherwise completely in-game. It always made sense that there should be some sort of recruitment board while playing.

Trion further proving that they're the best traditional dev out there.

The only sub-based MMO that keeps me logging in almost every day. Fantastic work Trion!

I want to say "This should've been in earlier" but that could really go for all features in all games. I commend Trion for doing this and am looking forward to what 2.0 will bring and hoping that I will be tempted back to resub.

@J45neoboy

There will be no 2.0... At least not in the foreseeable future.

In one of the new dew video one can clearly see the next patches are: 1.8, 1.9, 1.10, 1.11

So no 2.0 after 1.9. Still, they bring in so much content (at least one full new zone soon)... and frankly, i'm happy that we don't need to pay for extra expansions.

@Floop the Squirrel. Yeah, that would make sense as I always thought 2.0 would be an expansion and as far as I know, there's no plans for a full expansion probably because they are hard at work improving the existing game first!

Trion, I give you guys some serious grief comment-wise at times, but you've really always been a great company overall, with player interest at heart. I stomp my feet when the things added don't play to "MY" interests, but hey... I'm an admitted self-entitled brat who expects everything to be customized for just me. Admitting its the first step right?
(now about that housing...)

Nice that they've added it, but... how's this any better than what WoW has? Rift tends to improve things other MMOs have, but this is a bit disappointing =/

I don't recall WoW having any kind of integrated looking for guild or guild recruitment tool at all. Well, beyond trade chat spam. Maybe I'm missing something?

I don't recall that being added at Cata launch. I think it got added in a later patch.

Why is it, though, that none of these systems so far seem to support a simple keyword search? This tool seems awfully similar to Blizzards, where you can get literally hundreds of guilds listed on a given server and you are limited to how you can filter it. (This one does do WOW's one better in that you can filter based upon guild types, but that still seems a minimalist way to drill down.)

I dearly want these tools to include a simple search box to let me look for words like "everquest" or "mature" (to find old-time gamers like me). That way, GM's could put in keywords like "Christian" or "LBGT" so that people with similar tastes could find them more easily. Hey, these communities exist, so it's not in anyone's interest to make them harder to find than they need to be.

@AlienFanatic

THIS! These tools assume that people only play for raids and shit. I join guilds to find people I like- I've finished raids, hit the "pvp level cap," gotten servers firsts, etc, a million times it seems, but few guilds have lasting power when that's all you look for in a guild. Let us search for relevant terms, give more options, let us see a calendar or something, etc

@AlienFanatic. Absolutely agree. I love the fact that you can search a guild by time/play schedule (e.g. I want to raid after 9pm so I really hope I can look for a raid guild that raids at or after 2100hrs) but a keyword search is imperative in my opinion and from my limited knowledge of programming, would seem to be quite easy to implement.
