And it will be released when it's finished

*looks back at the Diablo 3 info*

And it will be released unfinished, with features flat out missing, bugs, problems, and of course many ways to get you to spend every last cent they can get out of you.

Sounds awesome!

@SnarlingWolf

Can we get a fourth dot for this post, please? Maybe instead of blue, the background can flash pretty rainbow colors? THAT is the new face of Blizzard, a shell of their former selves.

I would add that it will have crappy lore, a threadbare plot and combat so easy a five-year old caveman with cerebral palsy could play it.

Also, advertising tie-ins. "This epic armor brought to you by Snickers! Not raiding for a little while, because you used up your lockouts? Grab a snickers!"

The only way then can make both a success is to make one a free to play, which they did. Else they'll cannibalize each other player base.

Only if Blizzard is planning on making a WoW clone. Remember the MMO community is diverse i.e. some like WoW and some don't. If they make a game which is a departure from the WoW formula they don't have to worry about cannibalising themselves since they;ll be targeting a different customer base within the MMO player base.

Lay off 13% of the more experienced workforce, hire noobs right out of school at half the pay and benefits.... Kotick profits!

@Joaquin Crowe That would make sense if most of the 13% weren't from customer support.

inb4 "they moved all the talent to Titan which is why WoW sucks!".

Seriously though, how is this really newsworthy?

"We're not doing anything really different from usual."

Isn't really...well...exciting.

@Lenn They should actually start filming it this year when Raimi is done with his other project.

@Domintal Let's hope they've canceled the plans for a WoW movie at this point, they don't need to embarrass themselves.

@corpusc Quite the comparison you're making there. One look at Hollywood history will tell you that a movie, once in development hell, will rarely, if ever, get made.

But since you brought up that game: how did that do, after all those years of waiting? Not very successful, nor critically acclaimed, was it?

@Lenn

Generally true about the movies, but it can be either/or.

I remember the Speed Racer movie being announced with Johnny Depp sometime in the 80's. Judge Dredd also became active/shelved before Stallone starred in it. I even remember reading about, "Godzilla versus the Devil" in old Fangoria/Monster magazine sometime in the past and then we eventually get "Godzilla vs. Destroya" which seems to be about the same picture about 25 years later!

So, here's to the sixth anniversary of the talking of/making of "the World of Warcraft movie"! May we see many more years of scripts and held off production!

World of VaporwareCraft isn't as a catchy name as Titan, so yeah.
