Nothing here makes me want to start considering going back. Yes, some things are good, such as the promise of the siege of Orgrimmar and getting rid of Garrosh, but will it happen?

Sorry Blizzard, I know for myself, I will wait and see this time. For two straight expansions you have talked about all these wonderful things and I believed you and they didn't happen.

In Wrath beta you talked about how there would be 7 chapters, yet only 3 or 4 were delivered. There was no Outland raid as promised, the Arthas storyline made little sense, as did the Tirion storyline.

And of course Cataclysm was even worse. Why should I believe you will really show the siege of Orgrimmar when in Cataclysm you talked about Danath returning to Arathi to confront Sylvanas over what she did to her nephew. How Stormwind would be rebuilt over the course of the expansion. How there would be conflict between the Argent Crusade and The Forsaken over the Forsaken replaguing what the Crusade has been cleansing. And does the Abyssal Maw fiasco have to be gone over again? Perhaps we will find Garrosh just gone from Orgrimmar one day without any siege and you say "Well, his story was done so we didn't see the need for content"? These are just a very few examples of how much of the Warcraft story got cut from World of Warcraft. And because Warcraft fans have been fleeing from WoW, you had to cancel the comics due to low sales so you don't have that anymore to finish storyline that you didn't get around to finishing in game.

And I also haven't heard any fear that pet battles wouldn't make it in. If anything based on people I have talked to and reading the WoW forums, in a lot of ways it seems like people almost have some hope Pet Battles will join Player Houses, Guild Halls, the Dance Studio, Path of the Titans, etc as features promised and ultimately cut. Not to mention it's a little confusing that it seems that a Pokemon-style game-inside-a-game is getting so much attention and dev time instead of something arcraft related.

Sorry Blizz, I don't think this will be the expansion to do what neither wrath nor Cataclysm did and that's increase the sub base.

If you haven't learned long ago, Metzen is a MASSIVE windbag. The guy is all hype and little substance, delivered with his characteristic tough guy shtick. It's old, tired, and most of us aren't buying it anymore.

Well it's not just Metzen. He's just the lore person. And while I may have issues with the lore, like how Thrall is so great and 'green Jesus', all his decisions have been stupid. But the lore issues aside would not have driven me from the game.

It's the development process that keeps them constantly, for nearly seven years, nerfing/buffing each class for PvP balance and their stubborn refusal to do the one fix that could come as close as they can get, and that's a seperate PvP talent trees and skill set for arenas and BG's.

Not to mention as more and more Warcraft related content gets cut, we get more and more pets and mounts on the cash store. And don't get me wrong, I don't think cosmetic items are neccessarily bad or unethical even for a sub based game, nor do I believe reskinning some pets and mounts take away from real development time, but it sends the wrong signal.

Boizzard seems to have forgotten that it was the Warcraft fan that gave them the growth WoW got. But they seemed to have completely abandoned that fan base.

No kidding. Blizzard has an incredibly bad habit of not properly finishing story lines in game and leaving it to books / retcons / lore NPCs.

In Vanilla, Alliance players were well familiar with the Missing Diplomat quest chain. This was never resolved in game despite all of the hinting that it would be, and was ultimately be resolved in the comic book (which resulted in retcons to the story as presented in the game). This was a massive letdown for those of us who actually wanted to experience the resolution of the story in-game.

There was also massive hinting that if you got the Corrupted Ashbringer from Naxx40, there would at some point be an opportunity to cleanse it and have the "real" Ashbringer. Instead of resolving this properly by allowing players to do experience this, they basically retconned this whole thing out when Wrath launched by giving the cleansed Ashbringer to Tirion Fordring.

So I fully expect that most of the plot resolutions Blizzard is promising will end up being explained away rather than allowing players to experience it. But rest assured that POKEMON will make it in!

They didn't just hint Missing Diplomat would be finished in game, they flat out said it would be.

I would so love to go back to WoW. But I want to go back to a WoW where the Warcraft story is present and being told, and not constantly being retconned.

The retcons have gotten to be a little over the top. From Metzen explaining the whole Draeni/Eredar/Sargeras retcon by saying he "forgot" when he wrote for WC2 all the way through this past Dragon Soul raid. Why get invested in a story if they will just negate what was previously sometime later on.

Trust me, I've mused for hours about how much better the game would have been had Blizzard split the PVP from the PVE. So damn much time has been spent "balancing" when we could have gotten FAR more content. I understand that Blizzard sees e-Sport as the future, but WOW will NEVER be a mainstream e-Sport. If that's not clear by now, I don't know what is.

But this is a cancer in MMO gaming anyway. Too many companies want it both ways that they don't realize that PVP players and PVE players are seldom the same people. But they want those big $$$'s.

I gave up on Blizzard realizing this long ago. They've always been hell-bent on fitting that square peg into the round hole and, with their level of success, nobody's been able to convince them that it just doesn't fit.

WoW as an "E-Sport" is a hilarious concept, considering WoW's fundamental design is that of a PvE game.

I think this expack is the ONE I've been waiting 7+ years for since WoW launched. It's finally addressing a player like myself who doesn't really raid or dungeon run but wants to do other stuff. Can't wait.

The sad part is, and I really do believe this, six months from launch all you'll see in future patches is new raid content. I hope you're content to play on your farm, or participate in endless Pokemon battles, because I don't see Blizzard EVER learning to release much new non-Raid content in patches.

Oh sure, you'll get new daily quest hubs and new rep grinds. Sure you'll get a new five-man now and then. But Blizzard is dedicated to ROD (raid or die) game play, and I don't care how much players scream for new zones to get patched in, Blizzard just has no interest in those of us that prefer to explore instead of hopping on the hamster wheel every evening.

That may be so, but by then I'll be knee deep in GW2, TSW and any new content patches in Lotro, EQ2, Rift and so on. As long as they keep adding systems that make my monthly sub worthwhile, I'll be happy.

Right now, though, they aren't and it's annoying me to no end. Charging me a monthly fee for...what? Now that Trion has shown the MMORPG world that one needs to content patch every other month, everyone else has no excuse, especially Blizzard.

Whilst I think WoW will go strong for at least the next few years (based solely on how many people play), I believe that the game has grown stale and like a lot of people on here, whereas once I played and enjoyed it, I cant think I will go back, especially since playing RIFT which does everything WoW does but better (except for volume of population).

If the game wants to see a genuine increase in subs and improvement in peoples opinions of it, it needs a radical (and I mean radical) overhaul of its philosophy. The visuals would be a good start, as most other games are far better graphically than WoW.

I played for many, many years and I got tired of it; instead of trashing WoW tho, I'd like to thank Blizzard for a game that definitely kept my interest alive this long, something no other game company can possibly claim.

So yeah, MoP won't see me come back to WoW, it doesn't interest me anymore, but keep at it guys and good luck !

@Crsh What else are you going to play? SWTOR= bust, GW2 is massively overrated, and The Secret World is from Funcom...there aren't any legit options in the near future.

WoW is stil a great game and it's head and shoulders above anything out there today.

Yeah WoW is great if your a kid with ADD and like cute things. Hell even the Heroic Raids in this game are nerfed into oblivion. The entire game is nothing more than a joke now.

You know, it's funny Mtor that you refer to SWTOR a bust when it has 1.7 million subs. Did you know at this same point in WoW's history they were at 1.2? I guess by your standards if SWTOR is a bust, WoW must have been a complete failure huh?

And GW2 overrated? Did you know GW2 is being done by former Blizzard people. People who don't have to answer to Bobby Kotick on game decisions. Maybe GW2 won't be the end all be all, but the promise is there and by insulting it, you actually give a backhanded insult to that which you claim to love.

You are a broken record.

I do not understand this insane mentality you keep shoving into the comments, either. Does someone have a gun to your head *FORCING* you to play am MMO? No? Then you seriously do have the option of playing no MMO at all. It's the option I chose recently.

Alot of other games are out there, besides WoW. EverQuest has been around MUCH longer, and has multiple times the total content. I played EQ for nearly 8 years (and left EQ for the same reasons I left WoW... poorly planned changes wrecked the elements I enjoyed most). Rift does have everything WoW offers, and does most all of it better than WoW (but if you are already sick of WoW, Rift holds little worthwhile to you... so I am not playing it, either). Heck, Runes of Magic does alot of what WoW does, almost exactly the same (even the UI is near identical).

Seriously, droning on about how "WoW is the only good MMO so everyone will play it' is pointless. It's a has been, it was very good in Vanilla and great in TBC... but somewhere in TBC the dev team dropped the ball and never bothered picking it back up again.

You can keep copy/pasting the same tired crap about how "its the best EVER!", but clearly it is losing steam. I believe this "scroll of Resurrection" and "Free D3!" nonsense will slightly pick up some subscriptions, but it will be short term. Before Mists of Kung-Fu-Pandas comes out, I am pretty certain subs will be lower than they were before the scroll offer was announced.
...and I don't think for a moment MoP will do jack to help long term subscription numbers, either. I am not delusional, so why would I?

Sorry dude, it's not WoW or bust in my case, I'm perfectly fine not playing anything at all until something comes out that really grabs my fancy - I tried several other MMOs that didn't cut it, but that doesn't mean I absolutely need to play something.
