I want a 3rd person modern combat game, that's like Guild Wars2 with Dynamic events, and using a limited amount of skills based on weapon sets/load outs. If you ever played the April Fool's Quests last year in Guild Wars, that's kind of what I'm thinking, but with vehicles, and limited air support.

A triple-A funded Sandbox. I don't mind what the setting is, just a sandbox with the kind of budget the big studios are throwing around these days.

That's right, I said it.

I'd love to play a Star Wars mmo with sand-box features, real space combat, freedom of choice for my character, an alive world with ambient sounds! I know it would cost a lot of money and an experienced team to develop it, but who knows, maybe one day...

Ive always thought a Wild west theme would do good, set right after the end of the Civil War, Indians, cavalry officers, gamblers, outlaws, steam boats, wild west forts, ranchers, rustlers, saloons, possibilities are endless plus you have the actual history of the wild west to pull special world events from, gold rushes, mexican american war, confederate hold outs, railroads expanding.

G I JOE mmorpg is the most PERFECT IP for a new game!
I doubt we will see it since it hasnt been released and should have been with the GI JOE movie or the upcoming one, but there IS A WAY TO PLAY A GI JOE MMO RIGHT NOW!!!!!

Play Champions Online!!!! There are a few of the "classes" and "powersets" that work well for gi joe - ex ninja, martial artist, swoirdsman, soldier, soldier/swords combo, etc..

The GREAT thing is that about HALF of the games mobs and content COULD work for GI JOE, especially groups like Viper, Argent and Until! VIPER is basically Cobra with a diff name and they have all these crazy vechicles and such - same with Argent! And Until is bascially a cia-ish gijoe with crazy vechicles and such!

Ive played Co for a while and there are times where for HOURS I can pretend im in a gi joe mmo and its pefect and immersive!!

If Cryptic made a GI JOE mmo, it would be great since the engine is already made and a lot of the gi joe concepts are pre-built! But until then, play CO for a bit and get your gi joe FIX!

GL all! YOOOOO JOE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Does possibly existent soon count? Starbound (playstarbound.com) sounds pretty much exactly like my dream MMO, though it's a little more not quite MMO then MMO from what they're describing. But it has all the facets I'd like to see:

Multiple worlds/universes/realities you visit from a 'centeral' hub that you bring back things you've collected/stolen/pirated from these other 'locations' and use to build a sandbox style town/space station/planet/reality. Multiplayer consists of joint raids (for co-op), vs (arena pvp), raiding another user's domain (aggressive vs passive or tower defense vs pirate raiding style pvp).

The above listed doesn't have all of that.

Features like:
-Genetic engineering/breeding a population for your 'center'
-reverse engineering and research based on tech stolen from living civilizations or artifacts liberated from dead ones
- social engineering decisions building a small Sim like meta-game on the 'center'
- Sandbox style build-your-own reality + solo or group exploration/combat of unlimited realities.
- maybe even the ability to 'teraform' 'dead' worlds that other players could visit/raid either intentionally or randomly via their travel/exploration system. more passive than what you can do in your hub. Allows the generation of specific or new resources to be exploited later.

Not sure what kind of MMO this would be, but it's my personal sandbox MMO fantasy.

Giant Monsters aka DaiKaiju aka Godzilla type themed MMO. Could combine RTS w/ MMO. Some players build cities/armies and other players make Giant monsters to destroy them. Open world PVP against military units & giant monster fights!

There should be a caveman mmo, dinos, neaderthalls, hostile enviorments, some kind of portal from the current time takes you back and you have to forge a life or some such thing.

Reminds me of something like EVO: the quest for eden, except as an MMO.

Gather evolution points, to gain new abilities, or evolve into new classes. Could be fun.

Haven't all the genres been tapped? There's racing, martial arts, and everything except maybe sports!

I would like to see a Fantasy MMO that doesn't have to do with the typical orcs and elves. Maybe with a steampunkish design.

I'd also like an mmo where you're maintaining your own area of the world, like a house with defenses you have to build up and maintain.

A modern day urban crime MMO, bit like Grand Theft Auto but is more RPG than shooter (like APB).

Or an MMO based on Boogie Nights movie....!

I would love an Old West sandboxy type MMO without magic. There could be shamans of course but they would have to forage for roots and tree bark and snake blood and all that stuff to make their healing salves. Also weapons would have to be pretty realistic, know anything about guns then you know the weapons back then were not the most accurate.

"Water World"-themed MMO. Think of it as EVE on water, complete with vast oceans, ports, PvP, hostile NPC boats and marine life harvesting. Not joking :P

I'm so agreeing with this! Fully underwater MMO as a water-breathing species would realy be interesting, there are a lot of things to use in this environment. Movement could be 3D all the time, like in space, but with an avatar. This would be awesome.

I would like that. =)
