@Equillian

This is why I am calling it Diablo II 2/3'rds as opposed to III.

Passing on D3, but did take advantage of the crazy promotion with wow's scroll of rez. Only been a week back into WoW since leaving a yr ago, so far so good.

WOW.... talk about rabid anti-fanboyism for Blizzard here. Even if Blizzard caused the second coming you all would find a way to tear it down. Be critical yes, but geesh....

To be fair, there was much rabid pro-fanboyism for Blizzard on a few articles a week ago. It goes both ways.

And to be fair also, many of us are just critical of Blizzard's design direction of late. /shrug

@embleau Massively seems to have a readership that is highly critical of Blizzard. I just figure it's because they're the MMO site that tends to focus on "everything but" WoW. (though they do cover the important blizzard news) ... therefore they attract a lot of readers who have either left WoW for one reason or another, or have other issues with Blizzard in general. (The most common I see voiced is the view that Activision has somehow ruined a company many once held dear.) While I don't completely agree with this position, I do see where it's coming from. It's unfortunate to see the amount of vitriol sometimes, but opinions come in all forms I guess.

Anyway, that's just how I see it... and I've just come to expect negative comments on articles related to Blizzard properties. It's just the way it is I guess. :\

@Sickness

More like when they're at the apex of boredom from Cataclysm. It'll be roughly 6 months since 4.3 and with no filler content in sight.

my sentiments exactly. while the beta is short its still Diablo at its heart. D2 was far from perfect as well but all those here complaining will be the same ones in 3 months praising this. Every game everyone chases after for arpg's is a complete clone of the Diablo franchise and always falls short. For me, TQ was the closest.TL was fun and POE sucks.

Runic dropped the ball big time and even spouting a release date now won't save them. Sure, I will also buy TL2 as well but this just started the nailing process for them. They have to come out with an absolute AAA title to topple this. I personally cannot wait to play past the skeleton king...

Not really. I am disapointed with Blizz and won't buy the game.
Waiting for TL2 and Path of Exile.

Not me,Torchlight feels more a Diablo 3 than Blizzard's game.

I think I'll wait for the reviews. Better yet, I'll wait for Path of Exile.

I am going to wait this one out a few months, might buy it when the pvp comes out. Also want to read the reviews.

Whenever that PR came out and said lower your expectations of D3 it really just killed all my interest in it.

Blizzard has never missed with a Diablo game, but they were never rushed to release either.

@akubura "Whenever that PR came out and said lower your expectations of D3 it really just killed all my interest in it."

First, there was no such press release, the press release was actually stating the exact opposite of that. Second, if you read the actual thread on the forums, instead of relying on what people say on forums (including my comment right here), you would see that Bashiok's post was entirely tongue-in-cheek to an original post which was a serious troll.

So if a PR that never happened, regarding a comment which was an obvious joke (when read in context) is enough to make you not want to play the game. Me thinks you were never interested in the first place.

@Nucleon

Actually I was very interested, and even had the game pre ordered. The PR statement isn't the only thing effecting my decision. I'm not going to buy half a game and have to wait for the parti'm interested in.

With a company the size of Blizzard this game should of been completed years ago. So I personally want to see a few reviews as well.

To each his own though, I hope it's great,really I do and if your going to buy it day one. I support your decision.
