I watched many of the IEM matches for LoL and enjoyed them. At some points, during the more anticipated games, there were over 100k concurrent viewers! My favorite was probably the second game of CLG vs M5.

DOTA 2 also had some tourneys this past weekend, Dignitas Invitational and Razer. However, they were not as heavily promoted as the LoL stream and did not have nearly as many viewers. Still great games tho.

Well I would hope Diablo 3 is showing signs of release. How long does it take to make empty boxes and ship them?

Signs of release because they cut content. Not impressed with beta.

@SaintV They cut PvP, which is hardly "content". And beta is totally awesome (but too short).

PvP adds to the game, just because you don't enjoy it, doesn't mean that it is not content.

I like how you talk about only the latest thing to get cut as if it's the only thing to have been cut. What about all the other stuff?

And if you are a WoW player, you are still experiencing the headaches from a later PvP release in that game. This whole "I don't PvP so I don't care if it's cut" attitude is extremely shortsided.

I too never played D1 or D2 for the PvP and if I were to buy D3 I wouldn't have PvPed in it. However, as a PvEer who experienced delayed PvP in WoW, I for over 6 years was subject to seeing my class change every 4-6 months in the endless nerf/buff cycle in the effort to achieve balance, something that never happened. If D3 has PvP cut from release because it's not balanced, what do you think will happen when it is put in the game so it will be balanced? That's right, your class will be changed. This will affect how you play, possibly even your gear as well.

So yes, PvP being cut should indeed make a PvE player stand up and take notice.

Hey massively, how much is blizzard paying you to have this not so massively all the time about D3 when this site is a MMO site ?

@Kave You realize the 'not so massively' section is specifically for multiplayer games that aren't MMOs right?

@Kave I'm one of the people that likes news the news in the Not-So-Massively roundup. If you don't like it, don't read it.

I don't really get LoL or DOTA as an e-sport =/

Unless you play the game yourself it just doesn't really feel that interesting... especially since it takes like 15 minutes for the games to get interesting ^^

@eLdritchZ

So starcraft doesn't count as an esport either since the first several minutes are just mining and such?

Granted I do think they could get you into the action quicker, which is what dominion does, skip first few levels, and throw you directly into pvping instead of farming.

No Starcraft is different... don't ask me why but I haven't played Starcraft seriously for at least half a year... yet I still watch pro tournaments... It's just really fun to watch. LoL and DOTA are just kind of boring to watch...

Especially LoL... Haven't played that in half a year, so half the champions used I don't even know.... that's what I mean if you don't play the game yourself it's really hard to follow the action and actually appreciate what's going on

Hmm, this is irksome. I didn't mind about the always-online issue, or the real money auction house issue, but no PvP is the first thing in the D3 news that has disappointed me. Watching the footage of the arenas was awesome, and I was really looking forward to them.
