I've been following The Mittani's campaign just because it's hilarious.

Trebor's crowdsourcing resulted in a poll that had docking games as the players' number one concern. It was a joke...hardly a cornerstone of helpful information during the Incarna mess.

@smg77

Wanted to not pick on anyone, but Trebor mailing everyone in EVE asking for their votes did not improve the bad opinion some players have of him. It was funny to hear people log in and rage on comms about it, i'll admit that.

I'm sure he has good ideas, intentions, etc. and is a very special guy, but being the Jita candidate can't be that good overall.

@Xilmar

Yeah the spam was retarded but I was more concerned about the article making it sound like Trebor was some kind of guiding light to CCP during the summer of rage and the lead up to Crudible. The crowdsourcing poll was a huge distraction that served no purpose.

All hail The Mittani, Supreme Overlord of EVE Online!

Joking aside, eve-radio is a good place during these campaigns. They hold debates between candidates, that can turn funny really fast. Everyone that's interested in the campaign (and/or funny trolling) should check them out.

Good article, but no surprise since the CSM 6 one was great as well.

P.S. What is Massively's policy on comments containing not very safe for work recordings? On topic, ofc.

Issler Dainze's profile should also point out that she is the Space Barbie candidate. She has a big thread begging CCP to give up all the progress they have made in Cruidible and go back to ruining the game with more space pants microtransactions.

I love how this article seems to paint Trebor in the light of the hero of CSM6, when in reality he was sub garbage.

While The Mittani certainly was not the sole catalyst behind Incarna, he certainly did his share. Most of the hate towards him is either unfounded or is rooted in this games misunderstanding of what goons are, and the community they are drawn from.

Also the EVE radio debate between riverini and The Mittani was more than hilarious, it was a verbal slaughter. Riverini alternated between felating mittens and spewing ~memes~ everywhere his maw pointed.

The thing that annoys me the most about the CSM (just like any other type of politics) is that the people who are getting elected usually only lobby for what they do in Eve. Changes that need to, and should be made never even get put on the table because the CSM presses their own agenda. While a lot of people are in large alliances/corps, the majority of Eve players are in small close nit groups that do not get to experience much of the game simply because they can't fight a blob of 1000 people.

Hopefully this year the CSM will put their own agenda on the shelf and help to make Eve a better game for ALL players, not just the niche ones that they are associated with.

@Maseno

Then vote for pro high sec people, get more high sec people to run, spread the word. If "ALL players, not just the niche ones that they [CSM] are associated with" exert their right to vote, things will be better for you.

That's what I do in my small corner of eve, and I hope you will too.

"because he wanted to get the killmail"

And that, in a nutshell, is the biggest problem with EVE: it is populated by sociopathic children whose sense of self-worth is derived from abusing others.

I don't think it's particularly fair to characterize Adrian as having done nothing. He was very effective during the latter half of the session, after RL issues got cleared up.

"Lee is a forum troll who has entered the running for CSM as a joke. He is running on no platform and has no goals."

This is patently not true.

@(Unverified) Really? Lee's campaign message and blog contain nothing but deliberately mistyped drivel in capital letters and pictures of goats, with no information about any political platform or term goals. If you find evidence to the contrary, please send me a link to it and I'll update the post.

The... lolspeak, or whatever it is, has someone typing translations. And while it lacks comprehensive looks at all issues, it's far from having no platform at all and really should not be written off as such. In general, he seems to be running on an anti-nullsec-bloc platform, with an emphasis on getting the playerbase at large involved in EVE politics. Beyond that, he's taking the (admittedly safe/tame) general stance of pushing CCP to iterate on existing content rather than push out new features.

The report on Lee Alexander/Mintrolio is wrong

"Lee is a forum troll who has entered the running for CSM as a joke. He is running on no platform and has no goals."

He has goals:
Not so much serious business in eve.
Free eve from the tyranny of grammar and spelling.
Free goats for new pilots.

I think you are underestimating Mintrolio. I do not see him as a joke, nor that he has no goals or platform. As you should be aware the Eve Community thrives on the content created by trolls, dramaqueens & other shady individuals. Heck, without people like Mintrolio Eve Online would be a way more duller place than it is now.

In my opinion Mintrolio & Xenuria give voice to a substantial amount of the player base, with their foremost goal that it should be possible for trolls to enter the CSM. I can understand that you could not find their presence in CSM constructive, but this is the way Eve goes, and I think they deserve more then "..having no goals.. running for CSM as a joke..".

If one of these 2 manage to get into CSM, consider it to be the scam of all scams, and that in Eve, is a very big achievement. It will be big news, ingame popularity, and I personally think people care more about the latest gossip, backstabs & scams in Eve then serious business.
