From what was written, Nexus (nexuses?) sound kinda like Rifts. Not saying Rift was the first game ever to implement "dynamic portals where enemies from another realm."

And I really, really, really like the idea of being able to get game time without paying real money, if I'm reading that correctly. Hopefully it'll be easy to do though and not crazy time consuming or grindy.

about the chronoscrolls, the system will be practically the same as the PLEX, so if you played EVE you might get an idea of how much time it takes to farm the ingame gold to purchase them.

@(Unverified) Aion does this too, only with real players coming through from the enemy faction rather than NPCs.

@(Unverified) Even worse they call them 'Crevices' on one of the official BHS sites. XDDD

Nevertheless, I'm having a hell of a great time in the beta, even trying out a type of class I usually don't even like: melee! Melee feels sooooo good in this game, it's just satisfying, the weapon impact has great animation feedback, follow-through, and sound effects.

Plus hitting something with my Slayer in TERA vs clobbering something with my 2h mace with my Cleric in RIFT just feels like it hurts so much more.

I love RIFT, but I'm letting my sub run out in anticipation for TERA's release, I need to take a break and TERA seems like just the right ticket for a breath of fresh air.

Story is a big problem I found in testing, you don't know anything about anything. I loathe when developers want to bypass back lore with a the info on a website. All story elements should be in game.

Game control need perhaps a easier to understand guide, it's rough to the button UI MMO players trying to grasp it. There could be some drag and drop options for the game control setup. This isn't a big deal, but could use a bit of tweak.

Quests seem a little repeative, there to many go kill X mobs.

Tera however is not a doomed broken game, it has potential, it needs work though. The bigger concern is hand me down patching from Korea, this is one of the shortfalls for Aion and other games, regions need there own teams.

@(Unverified) I agree with just about everything you've said.

I think the game will be a success, and it will have it's core demographic. But I almost for the first time in my life wish this game was a f2p/b2p/or freemium offer. I feel like in today's market you've got to be able to really engross people in your game with attention to detail and story, and while TERA has a nice back story, that's all it really feels like for me so far.

@(Unverified) Not sure if it will apply but it was said, by someone at En Masse that they will "overhaul" the existing instances, some up some down, alltogether to the brand new ones that the Korean already got, to catter the end-game to this new-found western audience. And also it was said that maybe not all the content form patches will be implemented. Maybe it's just advertising...i'm just saying...I think it's a good sign against the idea of taking patches from Korea blindly.

@valestorm Except that Chris hager and brain knoxx were both at some point during their time at NCsoft Producers in charge of localizing the NA version of Aion. Both of them said that they were westernizing the game and we both know how westernize aion was. I remember before Chris left NCsoft, he even made a video trying to con the us into believing Aion 1.9 was created to solve the problems we had, which was a lie.

So just take what they have said with grain of salt.

@Valentina

If the game were buy to play, like Guild Wars, I would purchase TERA right now. Unfortunately, it's not, and I can't find myself paying monthly to play an action game. I remember Global Agenda trying that model, and when they brought PSO and PSU over here with monthly fees. Did not work out all that well.

The idea of being able to buy game time in the game with money does sound promising, but it also sounds like a constant chore, unless you make so many billions you can power yourself for a year (which I highly doubt you can). Here's hoping the game adopts buy to play with expansion packs. I'll buy it after that, this I promise.

this gotta be the first time in my nearly 15 years of online gaming that a company who claims to be "westernizing" an asian game actually does more than translating the texts.

2 thumbs up for EME right there

unfortunately, none of this fixes the core issues that game currently has. As much as I want to love this game, it just has too many issues to be worth it.

Vague and ambiguous comment alluding to nothing is vague and ambiguous, and alludes to nothing.

I would have liked the individual shops with a market linking them...though I dont like the little pets selling things....rather sell items out of my HOME!
