"I have bad news and good news. Bad news is I'm leaving STO and Cryptic in two weeks. Good news is I'm going to Bungie to work on their new title. Ian Richards will be replacing me permanently. Thanks for the wishes all. Ian is highly skilled. Trained in ships by yours truly."You can check out Williams' various STO model designs on his personal blog.
The man responsible for many of the starship designs in Star Trek Online has left orbit for a different company. Lead Ship Designer Adam Williams announced over Twitter that he's given his two-week notice at Cryptic, and will be departing for a role at Bungie. He presented it as a good news/bad news scenario to his fans:

Best of luck Adam, I'm sure Bungie is a much better company to work for than Perfect Crap Entertainment.

While I'll miss his awesome ships designs, best of luck on the new job. That's a definite improvement.

This is good, a lot of his ship designs were bad anyway.

@Oskiee Alot of the escorts needed help, but the science ship were cool and the cruisers were nice updates to the classic style. There was one particular sciece ship I would have loved to have kept througout the game it it could have just gotten slight size and stat upgrades throughout. I con't remember the name but I remember it was kind of angular and there was a pit in the top of the saucer

@Oskiee its just an opinion. no need to downrate his comment. i wasnt a fan of the ship designs either under his watch (assuming). some of the ships are fairly hideous (not just escorts...though i fly a fleet escort, so its sort of grown on me). the gallant, envoy, imperial, nimbus, the new yellowstone, etc etc. i will say though, the odyssey turned out pretty nicely.

There's only so many ways you can stick together 2 nacelles a hull and a saucer anyways.

I said "I'm sure" not "I know". Extremely small teams means more stress since you have less people to help you out. I do "know" that smaller teams creates more work and less time to get it done in since my department was slashed from 8 to 2 last year.
