@Dunraven

How does it feel to read every piece of gaming news and never experience any joy and/or anything other than bitterness?

I'm curious.

Well, while you're over here being sour when DUST comes out, I'll be having fun with everyone else playing. Cheers!

@Baby Choo Choo I don't understand how people get so pissy either.

I will be enjoying it as well.

Please, share with us your deep insights as to how you know this will fail. I wish to learn from one who has such knowledge of the gaming industry that they can predict the success or failure of something with absolute certainty, even before many of the hard details are known.

Enjoy it for the two or three months it's running!

You know what? I will.

If it runs for 2-3 months or hell, even 2-3 days, I'll gladly enjoy it if it turns out to be a good game.

I'd rather have fun for a short amount of time then turn into yet another jaded gamer who feels an overly false sense of entitlement and rages at every piece of gaming news they don't like.

There are plenty of things in the industry I don't agree with. For instance, I was really looking forward to Street Fighter X Tekken, but for some reason they decided to hold off on 12 extra characters for almost a year. You know how I dealth with it? I moved on. I didn't rage on any message boards or anything like that. I told myself that I just wouldn't be buying the game AND I MOVED ON WITH MY LIFE.

Thankfully, i have a ps3. /cheer
Although it sucks u cant share isk from ur Eve toon to Dust. Guess my hard earned incursion riches (lol) will stay where they are.
I have a feeling WoD is going to be something special.

They kind of confirmed there will be no "walking in stations" during couple of years - and I was right when uninstalled EVE today after 3 years. Didn't see new content during that period (planetary interactions? meh) - feel myself extremely stupid I paid for 3 accounts sponsoring development of DUST.

CCP is notorious for over promising and under delivering. Once they do release something its so buggy.

Its so close to release and they still haven't even started to beta it. Very interested to see how this plays out.

Even with all CCP's bs, Eve is the only MMO thats had any staying power for me.

We havent seen shit from WoD for in well... forever.

Is there anything we know beside that 2mins video?

Im starting to really dislike these companies like aventurine who keep you on the hook but really only trying to keep interest alive while delivering next to nothing.

How about this:

Stop hyping your games unless you got something to show us, and get back at me when you do.

I will be less frustrated with your "updates" and my perception of your company wont take a dip each time you say "Game is not shelved, honest! Thats all we have to say for now, stay tuned!"

@Eric Francis actually that is not accurate. Over the past year we have learned *quite* a bit about the game. For example; You start as mortal and do not have to be kindred to play the game, Single server - no shards, You can climb to the top and become prince of cities, there will be anti-griefing tools for players to deal with in-game ass clowns to name a few. If you look at the wiki on WoD News you will find all the complied info which is a lot. http://www.wodnews.net/Wiki.aspx

@Lateris

We probably will see Dust on PC when it becomes clear it's failing with the konsole kiddie crowd. Unfortunately by the time they release it for PC it will probably be too late.

Talk of a PC port is good. I think they should have done it either way personally, but I understand the arguments. Why no XBox? Because you have to pay outlandish fees and basically give Microsoft distribution rights and a ridiculous portion of the profits(so I'm told). Why no PC? Because I truly believe they wanted to broaden the horizons of the EVE universe, which is good for everyone!

Now, people that don't like playing computer games can log into the same universe as we MMO nerds. They will now get to enjoy the same universe we have enjoyed for years. The MMO market is in a stagnate state right now. If you aren't trying to reinvent the MMO you may as well not even bother. Furthermore, as far as Console based MMO's go, I don't know of any good ones.

All further comments are speculation.

Ultimately, I think CCP chose Sony and the PlayStaion Network because of the bad publicity each was getting during the time of the announcement. I mean, CCP was losing customers because of the ridiculous Exchange Prices and legitimate talks of Pay-to-Win micro transactions.

On the other hand, you have Sony and the PlayStation Network getting hacked and being taken down, which caused an enormous amount of disgruntled customers not only for the fact that their credit card information and addresses may have gotten stolen, but for the fact that they couldn't play their games that they were subbed to.

Now I could be completely wrong, too. I mean these talks could have been going on months or even years before the actual announcement was made, but one must ask one's self this. Why haven't they gotten into beta yet? You've heard zero talks of beta and its understandable if you factor in the above text.

@jakofascalon

They went with Sony because it was apparently easy to connect the EVE server on Sony.

Also the rumor that Sony dumped money on them saying they wanted the game.
