Western players have two new things to look forward to when TERA launches on May 1st: level 59 and level 60. That's right, according to a forum post by Producer Brian Knox, the level cap for En Masse's launch will be bumped up by two levels.
As a result of the level cap increase, the team's had to rework the formerly max-level dungeons. "We have shuffled them around -- some up and some down," Knox writes. "We will have more detailed information on it closer to open beta but it should create a much smoother progression to 60 as well as a good amount of content at level 60."
For those with many questions about the game, En Masse has launched a new section of the official site called TERA Answers. TERA Answers is a knowledge base that allows players to submit and search for questions and answers to game issues. It's meant to supplement the official forums, as helpful answers may be buried in the latter's case.

I wonder if this means that they've scaled an instance down to level 32 (the level cap for CBT3)? Originally, the next instance, Heathenish Shelter, wouldn't even be doable until 34.

I have a better idea. No levels.

They would have done better to launch as F2P they would have had a larger audience...a lot of people like Tera, just not enough to pay a monthly sub and lets face it will be F2P within a year.

@Dunraven
I would have settled for a GW style payment method personally. I like many aspects of the game so I have no problem supporting it with some cash, but I don't see it justifying a monthly fee either. Especially with so many other high-quality games out there.

@Utakata I'd far far rather P2P than have it be F2P, unless it went the Turbine route, but that's usually not the way that Asian MMOs go when they do convert to F2P. :(
As it stands, I'll be playing this game as long as it remains fun. Fortunately I've already met a great community to share it with, company makes all the difference.

spoiler alert: guy in the left is a spy or a bad guy that you eventually kill at level 37 or 38.

Wow, just had a look at the En Masse Entertainment bios page: all ex-NCSoft & ex-NCWest, and of course Aion players should recognize several of those names, and not for good reasons.
I'll check this game out when they've moved on to the next studio and TERA is F2P. Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice... not gonna happen. :)
