Yesterday, the Star Wars: The Old Republic guild summit gave players a good idea of what to expect from patch 1.2. But just hearing about things like the new Legacy features and upcoming Operations isn't enough for everyone, which is no doubt part of the reason the development team has put together a trailer for all of the new features. And while the new Operation, Flashpoint, and Warzone might be the most immediately interesting, there's a lot more on display in the trailer.
In fact, the trailer shows off more of the cross-race options for new characters that can be unlocked via the Legacy system as well as the upcoming appearance modification and UI customization that the patch will add. There's also a preview of new minipets, the promise of new daily missions on Corellia, and several other tweaks to improve the game. But why take our word for it when you can jump on down and watch the video for yourself?
This is the most original post ever made on Massively. No one has ever commented on the fact that most MMOs release and get updates later. You must be some kind of MMO savant... idiot savant, but a savant none the less.
I agree that some of these things should have been ready at launch like- Legacy, & the interface customization. I still have 4 months paid for on my cancelled sub, however I'm still not interested in logging back in yet.
By that logic no MMO has been ready at launch since all MMOs add features as they go. This is how developing in a live environment goes. If you want something to be content complete at purchase stick to single player games, and even there you will likely be disappointed.
@digitalheadbutt Right, but the Legacy system is a major feature. It's one thing to add additional content, like operations and flashpoints, quite another to have major game features missing at launch (SWG's player cities and WoW's PvP Battlegrounds to name two features mentioned in their respective pre-launch hype)... or be extremely buggy at launch (which appears to affect 50% or more of MMOs, WoW included).
Yes, the Legacy system existed before this, but it did very little.
I already quit when I got to 50 and realized it was the most imbalanced MMO I have ever played. When the dps tree for Guardian/Jugg is a better tank tree then the tank tree, you know you're in a bad place. I cut my losses and now waiting on GW2.
I believe there are changes to those classes specifically targeting what you are talking about in 1.2. I may be wrong though... everything seems to be running together now...
@johnvonhugendong No, except people are learning to re-roll and congregate on the top 3 servers of their PvX choice. When your on a full or heavy server, it feels like what I think Bioware had envisioned.
