@Sugars

Sent one to both of ya!

As for your questions, I'm going to be totally honest and say I don't know. I haven't played in over a year and I recently came back and I'm loving it. I'm normally a console junkie, but since nothing has come out lately to catch my eye, WoW has become my main game for the time being.

I can't speak for what's changed within 6 months, but I think it's still without a doubt one of the best MMOs there is, p2p or not.

The thing I find most interesting about this is the imediate boosting of characters to level 80 . This is very close to something many WoW fans argued would never happen .( ie being able to get a max level character without having to level it ) . Although this is different to some degree given I assume its on characters previous players have already established and played before and its only to level 80 and not level 85 . I think there must be some degree of concern at Blizzard about the numbers of people cancelling subscriptions . I don't think this sort of promotion will bring many back if they have already left the game .I may take a look at it just to play some avs for old times sake

What Blizzard need to do is look at why people are leaving the current product and put right whats going wrong . 10 million people wont leave but once the rot sets in your likly to see increasingly large numbers leave on a monthly basis . I still think WoW can be saved from this fate but it really needs a change at the top and someone who is willing to tackle the issues that are leading people to leave . Someone needs to be fired .

This is actually an issue a lot of current woW players are complaining about.

A friend of mine who is still on WoW says that there is a lot of talk on his server, and there is a lot of it on the forums to be seen as well, about how this seems like a round a bout leveling service.

Blizzard had always said they would never sell in game advantages for real money once they started selling pets and mounts, but they have been creeping that line. They have their premium thing to allow people to access the AH for an extra $3 a month, which means for extra money someone can do what others can't and try to make more gold or buy things to make their characters better while not even in the game. Then the original idea for Real ID grouping was that it could only be done if the person doing the inviting paid an extra premium fee a month, which meant that the person who paid extra could have their game do something that those who didn't pay more couldn't. That would be a first in a sub based game.

Now you have the SoR which gives a boost of any character to 80, even a level 1. Over 7000 gold in freebies. And $55 worth of server and faction transfers. And all for the cost of only paying for a single month. I can understand why people are upset over all that.

Oh, and just to add, the person who needs to be fired is Bobby Kotick. Vivendi made a HUGE mistake when they bought Activision from him and made him CEO of Activision Blizzard. Blizzard games immediately stopped "acting" like Blizzard games and started to mirror his philosophies.

If you look at when he took over in 2008 till now, Blizzard's titles have not been universally accepted as they always had been previous and people have problems with things like what is going on with WoW, SC2s map store policy and of course D3's RMAH and online only policy for even single player mode.

This is sad they are losing players because the game is to easy and caters to 10yo girls with ADD and they think giving out free high level characters is gonna make people come back?

WoW is dead to me now, they have lost the reason they made the big bucks in the first place.

So who exactly is level 1-80 for now? The bulk of it is already a ghost town on most servers anyway. Why would a new subscriber want to start at level 1 when anyone else who played in the past get a free pass to level 80?

Blizzard is pushing conflicting messages here and every time I check in to see what is happening in Azeroth I see a more fractured world that before. Look Blizz... if the "real" game only starts at end game and you are now pushing everyone to start 5 levels from end then lob off those first 80 levels that you just freaking remade for Cataclysm. Honestly I don't see why they picked level 80, might as well just dropped everyone back in at 85 decked with previous tier gear epics equipped... not much difference at this point.

This was a great upgrade to the scroll WITHOUT the instant level 80 and free Cataclysm. This is just ridiculous now.

I have always played and loved WOW because of the game that was ORIGINALLY INTENDED, one thats an epic gameworld with soo much to do and many ways to play.

BUT, now its just a lazy, spoonfed version of its former self , where the devs CONSTANTLY CATER to the whiney, level-rushing, spoiled, piece of trash idiots that have already destroyed the majority of the games communities!!

ANY GAME that will give someone an INSTANT high-level character or max leve l;character, without that player earning it, deserves for the game to FAIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After the faction/race changes, I was disgusted. Now Im just done. Ill sub a few more months to see all the games content at least ONCE, then im gone for good.

Oh and btw, WOW could easily have 30-50 million players or more, but THEY DO NOYT PROMOTE CORRECTLY, and whine about losing a million players.

Truth is, majority of players who leave wow nowadays are ppl that WERE loyal until they started to realize what WOW is turning into! Here I come RIft!

I am writing this because I feel lucky that Blizzard will actually read it. I am a veteran EU player, started playing WoW in Dec 2005. I still play WoW, but TBC 2.4.3 on a private server.

I did try to play CATA. I was gearing my main, a 7-year-old Rogue, during a 3 month period. In the end, I had 100% Firelands raid gear except from the offhand that dropped from Alysrazor, but still I didn't manage to continue playing CATA. The reasons:

1. Rogue DPS was sub optimal, and I found that I was being benched for most encounters except for the Encounter with Majordomo, wherein Rogues topped the damage meters as Combat spec and cleave (Blade Flurry).

2. Hybrid DPS'ers were much better than us Rogues on most encounters, so the guild had no reason to give us a raid spot.

3. After I left that guild, the only 25 man English-speaking guild on the server Darksorrow, I tried to find another 25-man guild, however, the remaining 2-3 25 man raid guilds were either Finnish speaking or Swedish speaking.

4. When i tried 10 man raid guilds (the majority these days) no guild wanted a Rogue b/c our DPS was sub-optimal, or already had one Rogue and they would not recruit more than one Rogue or the guild's main language was other than English.

In an unofficial Scandinavian server such as Darksorrow, a guild's main language could have been either Danish, or Norwegian, or Swedish or Finnish or Icelandic.

5. So, if I wanted to continue playing CATA I would have had to go find a new English speaking guild in an English-speaking server. The way things are in Bliz EU, all servers are supposedly English-speaking, but after 10-man guilds became so popular, everyone is making 10 man guilds speaking their own language, so you never really know if the server you are migrating to actually has any English speaking guild who are recruting Rogues.

You may migrate, and find out that you chanced up on an unofficial "Romanian" server wherein most guilds are Romanian speaking. Same with Bulgarian, Hungarian, Serbo_Croat and so on and so forth.

------------------>So there was nothing else for me to do than go back to what i knew best, that is back to the time where Rogues were a good DPS class and Moonkins and Shadow Priests were buff bots and mana batteries respectively. My guild now on my TBC server raids Karazhan, Serpentshirne Cavern and Gruul's lair.

Maybe you guys will find this message to be of some use to help you make some future MMORG better than WOW, b/c from what I read of MOP and Panda Monks, my time with CATA is going to be the last time I played retail WOW. That's too bad b/c I have got 7 year old toons in your servers and I can't play them even though I want to.

The impression I get of CATA is that you people don't want people who play pure DPS classes such as Rogues DPS in your servers which is fine as the servers are yours and not mine. Cheers.

Wasn't hooked during my first month of SWTOR and itching to get back into WoW after a long break.

If someone could send me a scroll of resurrection I would be very grateful.

Thank you!

Now this IS being desperate BUT it's one of the BEST desperation moves I have EVER seen from them. But ohhh...the IRONY.

This brings me to a point.

The problem with most of these developers, especially the ones like Blizzard and Bioware, is because they NEVER, EVER give back to the community unless they need more money still.

They don't show appreciation for their fans / player base.

They just TAKE! TAKE! TAKE! until they need their credit card information again. This is not how a business should be in my opinion.

They are successful because of their fans and all they can think about is how much money they can suck out of them without returning any sign of gratitude.

I've only seen City of Heroes do it the right way.

Just my 2 cents. I think WoW would not have these problems with people quitting after their friends move to other servers, if the fundamental community in WoW is better. I'm talking about friendlier, less obnoxious players. Too often, someone's friends quit, a player gets left behind, and that player has an awful time finding others to get along with. Then they end up quitting the game altogether.

In addition, new content is always a good idea, but always adding better gears is not an answer either. Incentive for exploring new content should more often be the story instead of better gear. This way, people actually have an incentive to take time and appreciate the game instead of rushing out to the next latest and greatest. Upgrade fatigue is the reason why I finally left game before Cataclysm. There was simply no point in staying, knowing how much time I sunk in to getting my toons proper gears for proper specs. The moment Cataclysm gets released, they all become outdated.
