Even though I assume they are counting on March update to hold the timecard people, I think I will see how 1.2 is as well.

If the coming patches and update are worth it I may stay. We will see.

What ever you do, don't address the crappy game engine and what (if anything) is being done to fix it.
Whatever you do.. don't do that.
Ok?... good.

Runs beautifully on my four year old machine and a 9800GT video card on high settings. Learn to maintain your system.

@Fabius Bile

4 year rig as well, 5850 gpu, everything on high, shadows, aa...silky smooth fps.

Combat mechanics, crafting, art style I all have issues with. The hero engine was one good decision Bioware made.

@(Unverified) There are videos with people with $4,000+ gaming machines chugging in Ilum, but no matter what fanboys will always post how their Commadore 64 runs the game at max settings smooth as butter.

The game engine runs beautifully for most people, i've been in Ilum a lot over the last couple of weeks and get a steady 60fps there, and that's on my low end. I normally get way higher then that everywhere else with gfx maxed.

@Valentina It's hilarious that anyone that dares say the game runs fine is downvoted by the COMPENSATED hate machine.

@Dunraven It's even more hilarious that anyone who says they have any issue whatsoever with swtor gets downvoted or insulted, the fan base for swtor is the worst in the whole genre and that is saying alot.

And I have a freshly installed win 7 64 bit, 8 gig ram, gtx 550 ti, quad core and I considered myself lucky to get higher then 15 fps in any situation.

For that and the lack of any real features I expect as standard in the genre I cancelled my sub. And now play rift waiting for the real next gen mmo's to come out, incidentally rift looks better and plays better in windowed mode then swtor ever did.

@Acharenus I now many people with lesser systems than yours that run the game fine so what is their magical secret? having the necessary hardware and knowing how to use that hardware are two separate things all together.

@Dunraven All the latest drivers safely overclocked a bit above factory settings, defragged, clean registry and most of win 7's features turned off. runs everything else fine.

Is there some ritual I'm not performing correctly?

Those other people must be very lucky or imaginary.

@Acharenus Just to pre-empt I have no reason to slag off the game, nothing to gain from it. The last time I logged I realized I'd never tried to love a game as much as I had swtor.

If it'd had cross server pve/pvp a decent gtn interface and wasn't loaded to the gills with bugs that apparently take 3-4 patches and still aren't totally fixed I'd still be playing.

Maybe I'm just spoiled by trions amazing launch and constant maintenance/hotfixxs as well as wow's current patch support. Maybe if bioware had realized that it was competing with current games and not games released 6-7 years ago all these things would be fixed and I'd still be playing.

If it runs fine for you and your friends and you don't mind it's lack of features then grats, good for you. But it wasn't for me.

@Acharenus

No fan boy issues here, but there must be something wrong with your system/drivers/set up, as I just bought a $400 ASUS Laptiop with an A-6, only 4 gigs of RAM and I am at 25-45 FPS, with mid range settings.
