Ready for World of Warplanes' third tech tree reveal (and a load of in-Soviet-Russia jokes)? It's here, and Soviet aircraft take center stage in today's update. Twenty classic warbirds have been added to the action combat game, including the La-5 fighter and the renowned Il-2 Sturmovik.
As with the American and German tech trees, Wargaming.net says it will add additional aircraft to the Soviet tree as the game nears launch. World of Warplanes is currently undergoing global alpha testing, and you can sign up to be a part of it at the game's official website. Before you go, though, have a look at the new Soviet tech tree and a new video clip after the cut as well as new screenshots in our WoWP gallery.
I like WoT, although admittedly I have not been playing it lately and am looking forward to this one. WoT was surprisingly good, fun, and their payment model allows you to do quite a bit without depositing anything.
Ya WoT is a really good...if somewhat insanely frustrating at times...game. I'm actually a bit more excited for that other plane game, the one formerly known as World of Planes. They just seem to be a lot more ambitious on their game. However, as I know what to expect from Wargaming.net (OP Russian...), I feel confident that this game should be a fun game that I can fit into my schedule easy enough.
My brother was telling me that one of the complaints people had, is that because of the tier system, Russian planes will be equal to other nation. But people apparently believe they aren't and so they shouldn't be made to be. I have no idea about that, so meh, I just hope that it's fun :D
@Tezcatli Well there is always a case to be made about historical accuracy which I often see is brought up for this game or others, like TSW, I think ultimately you can't rely on accuracy if you want to make a blaanced -and fun- game.
