I had to read this article simply for the pic of Ralph, but I've nothing useful to say.

Believe it or not, I'm walking on air...

The next developer heroes will be Blizzard (again).
They will clone all the games out now and redefine MMO's yet again.

They would have a huge fail game on their hands if they cloned everything out now. There has been almost no change in the MMO market since WoW was released. Everything has been an attempt at a copy of WoW and it just turns into failure. SWoWTOR is a prime example of people getting tired of the same thing over and over and over. I have a feeling it is either going to go the way of Rift (3-400k steady subs), or go the way of WAR (on the verge of being shut down).
EA/BW should have realized that while single player RPG story line/voice overs/cinematics are all fine and dandy in a single player RPG it will do nothing in an MMO. It kept people playing to level cap and then they got bored and left.

I would like to see someone new on top, getting pretty sick of the old talent. Not that it is bad, it's just so, predictable...

ArenaNet obviously.

They've posted tons of things that are innovative and at the same time change things we all hate about today's MMO's. No trinity, easy server xfers, overflow servers, WvWvW FFS!

Cant wat

@Traptz agreed, ArenaNet. So say we all.

Mike O'Brien: "If you love MMOs, you'll wanna check out Guild Wars 2, and if you hate MMOs then you'll really wanna check out Guild Wars 2."

Colin Johanson: "I swung a sword. I swung a sword again. Hey, hey, I swung it again. We don't just want players to grind in Guild Wars 2."

Ree Soesbee: "We do not want to build the same MMO that everyone else is building. In Guild Wars 2, it's your world. It's your story."

Daniel Dociu: "The look of Guild Wars 2 is stylized. We're going for a painterly, illustrated aesthetic."

And the videos of Divinity's Reach have been mind-blowing--and that's the city of the boring humans. Imagine how much awesome sauce are the non-human cities.

@Ken from Chicago

I really do hope that Ree Soesbee becomes such a household name that she'll occasionally afford to spend a weekend getaway aboard the ISS. And hopefully without any of the misplaced ego, obnoxiousness and insane ramblings attached of a certain someone else listed in the article.

@Traptz : I agree, with a caveat. I greatly dislike the limit on how many of your abilities you can "equip" at one time - I won't play any game that handicaps itself like this (and consoles be damned). This makes no sense to me or anyone I know, RL or online. I'd rather have a job change system like FFXI or plain old skill trees. When you can fill a missing slot in your "trinity" with an NPC hireling there's no downside to specialization.

I gotta say, the Technical Director of Forsaken Studios, Dave Belcher, seems to be a safe bet. If they can pull off their future sandbox title "Embers of Caerus". He seems to know what to implement and what to avoid in a sandbox game. And then of course there's also Rob Steele, the Creative Director who thought up the game in the first place. He has some pretty awesome idea's for the game. Shame it's still in the early stages of development xD
