PoE is looking good, but that flavor text on Death's Harp is hands down the best flavor text for any item ever made. No other item need apply.

The way they're cutting features in D3, I won't be surprised at all if sometime in the next month Blizz is gonna say "Heh, it was all an intricate ruse guys. There is no Diablo 3, we were just pulling your leg. Go back to WoW now, and thanks for those annual passes."

And this is coming from a Blizz fan...

@Laurs

How 'bout it!

The only thing that gets me is WHY they're doing it...I've not read a concrete reason besides "its not in the mechanics" as to why they're axing features at a breakneck pace.

The one "cancellation" that pretty much nailed the coffin closed for me was the Death Animations. After that, I was done.

I'll pick up D3 when it becomes a "Battlechest" edition in a few years.

@Faction 3 I told a friend about the 'death animations' just being fake for marketing over lunch and he choked on his food.

Forget everything else, having a boss tear you in half when you failed was just the most awesome thing ever, hearing that it wasn't true was the game equivalent of someone telling you that Santa Clause and the Easter Bunny aren't real.... and by the way, you were adopted.

...I'm being melodramatic, but it was kind of a punch in the gut.

Been playing around with the new patch, the character development process is a lot more fun. Runes regularly unlock on a level where you don't learn a skill, so you're always learning something new. You could seriously change your build 5 times before killing the skeleton king at level 10.

This was a good change by Blizzard and is not in any way shape or form a cut feature. They refined their initial idea, it's better now.

@(Unverified) Compared to D1/D2, D3 is more like Farmville.

While we're on the chapter of "good" changes, why don't they just get rid of gear. Customizing your char isn't really fun, so let's not have gear.
Also, the combat gets repetitive, so we might as well just scrap combat as well, we'll just use diplomacy and talk the bosses into surrendering.
As a matter of fact why even have multiple classes at this point, let's just have one class, since more classes might get a bit more difficult and therefore less fun.
Oh and maps, why have big randomized maps? Let's just all sit in the main hub like merry little men and talk about how our day was and how our bosses are riding us like slaves.
That would surely bit a more fun game, wouldn't it?

@(Unverified) I'm happy with the skill runes for the most part as well. I don't understand the gripe-fest people are going on about it not being a drop anymore. I doubt it'll effect game play one bit and it takes out the middleman of trying to make the build you really want to use in end game.

That said, the UI could use a bit more clean up here but I've been enjoying the hell out of playing around with the permutations on the skills they offer so far. I think it's tough to judge though all we're going to get to play around with only 13 levels though.

So..are we(Massively) just calling any game that is multi-player an MMO?

Last time I checked Blacklight Retribution and Diablo 3 were not MMO's.

BLR is an FPS not unlike COD or Counter Strike and Diablo 3 is a hack and slash RPG with co-op and multi-player but is in no way on a massive online scale.

@Traptz

The "Not so Massively" title should've clued you into what this column is about. But since it escaped you, ill tell you. This is the column that they talk about multi player games that aren't mmo's.

At some point in the future I will be able to purchase and play Torchlight 2, yes?

The wait has become agonizing.
