Everytime I read a little too much about EVE I regret leaving. Then I get the promo from CCP for free time or cheap sub, and I immediately regret downloading the client after logging in.

It's such a superb, amazing concept of a game, but the terrible player civilization and atmosphere just run into the ground. Which is hard to do from space.

For me without a doubt it is Asheron's Call 1. I loved everything from the look, to the sounds, to the huge open world. The world of Dereth just felt so immersive and special. I had a couple of friends who I was trying to talk into playing mmorpgs. Needless to say they picked Everquest and not Asheron's Call, so I ended up leaving.

Fallen Earth. Just had too low population, too hard to group. No fast travel (has more now). But it is a great game.

Lol... Maple Story. My first proper MMO If you don't count RuneScape.

My happiest gaming memories stem from MS, but I quit playing for WoW in 08. To be fair MS in its current state is nothing like the game I remember, but seeing screenshots and talking to old friends (some of whom still play) brings back waves of nostalgia and I feel really sad about having passed that stage of my life.
