So this means there are at least 43,758 active Rift players. Cool.

@teamvernia No, it means there's that many interested in the wedding feature. :D

Only 4 people out of my guild of 70 individuals were interested in getting married on that day, and even then it was just to contribute to the record. The RP server Faeblight was much more active, but it really comes down to player interest.

Still, it's really rather nice that Scott and Trion are putting rubber to road with their 'Non-Stabby' projects, I'm interested to see what else they have planned!

Followed by... the most DIVORCES in one day.

New in-game profession... Divorce Attorney. Easy gold.

@yeppers That would be cool, there's a scroll for that actually, and pretty cheap, but I imagine on the RP server there might a a few people that would rather get it done through a Divorce Cleric. ;D

I would have loved to have seen the stats on gender pairings, just for entertainment's sake.

@enamelizer And to get those religious people mad. That's always fun.

@hami83 They're so easy, but the payout is so good, it's almost like cheating.

Rather than fix bugs and terrible class design, LET'S ADD WEDDINGS.

Are in-game marriages in demand? I doubt it. Why do devs think they know best when clearly they don't. Panderian? Really? In game weddings? Really? Full voice overs, even to the point of annoyance? REALLY? Why are mmo devs dumb?

@(Unverified) Did you not read the number on turn-outs?

Read the article. I know your response was written in haste, fueled by your passion on the subject, but you were able to type that out, so it's possible you also had the time to have read the article.

Yes, because players certainly know much better.

+1 to you. I 100% agree.

Activision has ruined WoW. The Pandas are likely one of the final nails in that coffin.

I'd re-sub if they had WoW servers that were strictly up to and included patch 2.3.

Rift sets a record for in-game marriages? That's a bit like saying it set a record for being the only MMO in the world called Rift. Totally pointless record.

@Joaquin Crowe

HAHA oh wow, I can see it now... in 9 months a patch with a new "companion" system comes out. Those that were married now have a child "companion" they cannot dismiss and must constantly "train".

If you got divorced, the game randomly picks one parent that gets the companion, and the other gets weekly child support withdrawals.

In combat the child will constantly interrupt your actions. If you cease to interact, ear splitting noises come from your speakers.
