Cyclops, aka Scott Summers, will be leaping off the comic book pages and into MMOs when Marvel Heroes eventually comes out. Until then, we'll have to content ourselves with scoping out his chiseled, spandex'd body and secretly wishing that we had his death ray eyes the next time we get stuck behind some jerk in traffic.
Gazillion is happy to announce that Cyclops will be a playable character in Marvel Heroes. What he lacks in overall charisma and flying abilities, he makes up for with a facial cannon capable of ruining your day. Cyclops is the on-again, off-again leader of the X-Men, a group of heroes that is also confirmed to be a part of the game.
You can check out a larger picture of Cyclops along with all the other revealed playable characters in Marvel Heroes in our new gallery below!

I was kind of ready to blow this game off for no good reason but the heroes they seem to be choosing all seem to be solid choices, None of them make my personal list fo top Marvel heroes (exceot for Ns. Marvel on the front page of the gaame's site), but none of them are what I would call bad choices. A bit random, but anything other than bad.
I do hope they branch out into a few "not-so-recognized" characters (or just copy and paste the cast from MUA2), but I can live with this game either way.

The thing I absolutely hate about this game is that you can't be your own person. You are pigeon holed into being a premade, already established super hero. If anyone else decides to play that hero it will (most likely) look exactly the same as you. That is one thing I can't get past.

You know there's three other superhero games where you can do just that, right? This one is for all the people who've complained that they wanted to be able to play an established hero.

I agree there's no reason to complain about them doing it differently, since we've already got multiple games who do it one way.
The only pitfall they run into is how big of a cast they can offer. If someone can say "I can't even play hero in MUO, but I can make them in CoX/CO" then that's kind of a problem.

Which with the marvel IP would be pretty often. I mean when the Marvel MMO resurrected with Gazillion I was excited about potentially making a group/league/guild/whatever of morlock type toons....which likely isn't going to be an option.

@JuliusSeizure The only time anyone has complained about playing an established hero is when DCUO was announced and guess what...you can play them so your point is moot. Being able to create your on persona has been a central theme to all MMOs and for them to disregard that is just a shotgun blast to the toe.

@Oskari Wearing the same uniform, armor, etc. is not the same as literally having five copies of the exact same character (in a genre that is built on character creation/progression) fighting the same enemy at once.
Characters may wear identical clothing, but they have different names over their heads, different faces, hair, history, accomplishments, story, etc.
It's not even close to being the same.

I'm not sure what everyone is complaining about looking the "same" They have said in various videos about this MMO that the user will have customization with the characters.
