Guild Wars Insider has the scoop on the confirmation of a Guild Wars 2 console version at some point after the game's PC client goes live. The source is an NCsoft earnings call, during which a couple of console-specific statements were made.
The call also mentions beta testing for the upcoming fantasy game. "In March and April there will be large-scale testing for GW2; depending on results of testing a finalized commercialization schedule will be determined. [The] console version will be launched separately from [the] PC [version] at a later date," the fan site reports.
NCsoft also says it will be considering "seasonality factors" when determining "final commercialization" for both Guild Wars 2 and Blade & Soul. Head to Guild Wars Insider for more, including audio of the call.

Worked for FF11. all you really need is keyboard support, and Sony at least has had that since the ps2.

I wouldn't say it 'worked'
As a very long time FFXI-er I can honestly say that the PS2 has been a blight on FFXI and the community widely saw it as holding the game back. Most rejoiced when they announced they were going to stop supporting it.

@Alph As a fellow long time FFXI-er, I would say it absolutely worked. Console player saw the grumblings of PC players in Vana'diel as just that, grumblings - while we reveled in the magic of playing a persistent world on the comfortable couches of our living rooms.
When I started playing FFXI on the PC, I even went so far as to buy a controller so I could setup my scheme like my PS2 controller. I honestly believe that the acceptance of console players into this game was a large part of its success and the PC players who hated it are the vocal minority. Far more realized that more players are always better.

@Angel Rage
I'd call it less grumblings and more unsubscribing. There are so many things that FFXI could have had if it wasn't tied to the PS2. I can't count the number of times the developers cited "ps2 limitations" over the years whenever asked for implementation of a feature.
A lot of people gave up and moved on to other games. A lot of others saw it was a crappy console port and never even subbed to begin with.

Just head over to the DC Universe boards and ask them how sharing your game with the PS3 owners affect their favourite MMO
;)
Here's a hint, in the end, you're f**ked

Maybe it's time for to give up on MMOs.

that's actually bad news, means the game has been dumbed down.

@aaradun I have to disagree on ground that your statement lacks proof or argument.
