@Maseno

I don't know, I read the bard preview and it didn't feel really compelling. It might play out differently in-game but the preview had this kind of "must group at all times, useless while solo" feeling to it.

Oh Allods, I had forgotten about this tragic little tale.

It had so much promise. The only F2P MMO I had ever considered putting money into and supporting. Everything was looking great until they were overtaken by the dark side and started putting cash ship gimmics into their game.

Does Allods still have those in the game? Frustrating mechanics designed to shoulder you into the shop?

@Bartlebe Dude this happened like 2 years ago. Get with the news, the game has improved by leaps and bounds and is now actually good. The cash shop is as unintrussive and as optional as you want it to be.

Even your bags now allow for more items than the maximum number of slots...

Some people like to troll just for the sake of trolling.

@Bartlebe

For the most part Allods has moved away from punishing it's F2P players for not using the cash shop and is a lot fairer these days.

All of the really nasty stuff has been dropped, leveling nerfed and more free goodies given out.

If you don't want to spend you can still enjoy everything the game has to offer it will just take more effort and time to get there.

That said I would recommend people with poor impulse control and bad money sense stay away from the cash shop.

So if you play Allods and a plan to have a few drinks before or during your gaming session lock away your credit card first.

Nothing worse than waking up with a hangover, 300 bucks poorer and an account full of useless cash shop crap you could have swore was essential to your gaming enjoyment the night before.

@zgomot He was asking legitimate questions, hardly trolling. You negative tone won't help matters.

I can confirm that the game has improved greatly - I even own a couple of mounts I purchased in the game, which other than some runes at high-level play is about all I ever thought of spending. It's definitely nowhere near what the Perfume+Fear of Death system used to be where dying costed money. Now you get holy charms for free, as many as you want, that protect your item slots from getting cursed - so their only death penalty they have in place is basically completely avoidable. It's a really good game, especially for F2P - but with so many strong titles on the imminent horizon, it's just not for me right now. But for anyone who hasn't played it in a few years, it's definitely worth a second look.

Not sure what prompted you to get so defensive. Being critical and asking fair questions isn't trolling. Anyone that doesn't share your perspective is trolling right?

Does this game still have only pvp servers? Getting ganked at lvl 20 with no guard protection (guards were also lvl 20) sucked :-)

@(Unverified) still happens but people have moved on (with the level). And in in-game you're not forced to pvp to advance, even if there's lots of benefits to pvp with other people in pvp-matches.

You can buy Holy Relics or whatever they're called, and if a person 10 levels or more higher than you tries to PvP you, it kills them instantly upon use. I've killed skull-level players using those things while in Asee-Teph and man oh man is it hilarious. A pretty great solution to the problem that forced me to quit the game way back then. It was very frustrating, now, not so much. My only real complaint is that CC is still too strong in PvP but otherwise, great F2P game, if a litte P2W thanks to the runes.
