Another great article Eliot, nice read. Endings for me always have that sense of a "Job Well Done!", but also the closing of an adventure, that was mostly fun along the way. I take Mass Effect 3 for instance, I am ecstatic for that game to release and can't wait to play it! I also, take into account that it will be the final game in an amazing series. That I will miss.

I just finished reading inheritance, the last book in the eragon series. what a sad ending to a story I started quite a few years ago. least I have a bunch of unread drizzt books to help fill in the hollowness.

Do I detect a 'Twice Upon a Time' reference in the title of your article, Elliott?

Other than creating charafters, killing them is my favorite part, but as a longime storyteller/roleplayer my idea of a 'Mary Sue' is a character so flawed and failing that the death adds story elements rather than concludes them.

I was a brutal bastard of a dungeon master back in the day.
