MHS had over 50 peeps working with them, and higher costs for sure then SV that only have around 10 peeps working for them. And trust me. ER had like 20-30 peeps playing at most at the end. Was pretty sad to see. I hoped it would make it to F2P so more could see where they took the game after the horrible release. I had alot of fun with the game towards the end.

after the last "offering of more shares" SV's stock is worth 2 cents a share USD. A 2 penny stock from $4 dollars almost 2 years ago.

@pocketsdathief I don't know who is Tizio but... yeah... The time StarVault will close I will be sad but... I play Mortal Online for 3 years now (counting the closed beta) I really don't care how SV is UP the important is that they are up.

and btw: I've seen a lot of more poeple in Mortal Online then in Earthrise (I don't think stock holders bring people to play the game...)

Just see if with Awaking if they can take the break-even.

@pocketsdathief What is your issue Pockets? Why do you have to continually tarnish the chances of any of these games actually making it through your negative (and over-exaggerated) bullshit.

I think SV is doing a great job with the team they have and the price of stock means nothing to an actual gamer.

I find your insistence on coming here and hating really sad, as nothing positive at all comes from your ranting.

So..is he blaming the genre and triple A companies for his game being pretty horrible? How about make a game that works and IS innovative and FUN.

I bought the game and found it a horrible mess. The execution of the game was just horrible. Ah well, I wish the best to the employees there. That's the only reason I don't mind the loss of the box fee, it helped pay someone's paycheck.

@MMOaddict

I don't think he blames AAA companies, he just points out the fact that it's really hard to get funding for MMOs todays unless they are themepark games capitalizing on an old and tried formula.

And without serious funding, any MMO will be a horrible mess.

@TitusGroan While I'm sure he knows his business, as a player who just wants to experience that high-quality next-generation sandbox, I don't know if it's fair to ask a AAA studio to create it.

The AAA studios don't produce innovation so much as they refine it. Perhaps it's a good thing that studios aren't throwing money at sandboxes -- yet. We still need to produce a working example of a popular sandbox-y model for the studios to set their progs loose on.

Minecraft gives me some hope for that.

Oh god, that's heartbreaking. Really.

With Interplay dropping Fallout Online (for which they partnered with Masthead) these guys will probably be out of a job now. :(

Sad day.

Earthrise was not half bad. And if it actually worked as intended, it would be amazing.

But there is just as far a game could go on budget.

I do blame developers for that - especially in case of Earthrise.

The game was just too ambitious. Especially on graphic area.
They should have gone from simpler easier to do ground, and build up.

Anyway.
Sad day for sandbox fans :(

I would have like to continue playing but way to many bugs and lag
and not enough players. Sad I was hoping this game would have been
my replacement for Tabula Rasa. Oh well there is always Planetside 2
on the horizon.

did he put the word innovativeness in a public release? Maybe it's a word, maybe it's not... just doesnt look right as a word. Oh wait, neither did Earthrise as a game. BAZINGA!

@Equillian
Ya know, maybe it didn't catch on well because they seem to like to use non-words like, "innovativeness." There's a reason most people on the web know the phrase "All your baser belong to us," only as something to laugh about.

If this was an Eastern developed game, everyone would say the same stereotypical comments about how they're all grind, they all suck, etc.

In the end it doesn't matter who developed it, a good game is a good game.
