Another feather in the cap for DUST. Now they just need to get it the hell over on PC.

Finally!
I don't understand those against it - if there is an option to have more accuracy and better control over your game, why would you not want that? How is there any sort of competition when the computer does half the aiming for you? It's not like they're introducing a super expensive controller that you have to buy to be competitive. You can get a keyboard and mouse for cheaper than an PS3 controller. We've replaced two worn out PS3 controllers in the past 6 months at my house. It's not like they come with the machine and last forever.

Welp, now I'm interested in playing it. Time to go go make some controller using console FPS kiddies cry.

This game will fail on the PS3, fact.

The barrier to entry is so high for this game it makes no sense. If they released it on the PC then at least they would have the EVE fans already on top of the F2P FPS fans...

I'm wondering if this has anything to do with the large amount of people complaining about being a ps3 exclusive. Should have either stuck with the console only idea (no mouse/keys) or change it to a non ps3 exclusive and get into a lot of trouble with sony.

Didn't they say no PC bc they didn't wanna cannibalize EVE's player base?

I see this as a kind of olive branch to interested PC players.

PC FPS is my game of choice and I am big hardcore multiplayer person. This game sounds like alot of fun to me. I'm disappointed its a PS3 exclusive, but I could only imagine the amount of hacking in PC. Even more since win/loss will carry more weight(maybe).

I realize you can still hack on consoles, but seems like a more involved process versus PC. Seems like it might be more managable on a console.

Also what some said about this being like GA shooting dynamics makes sense kind of. I see it as more of a TPS style of game play than FPS.

Have they said how skill based this game will be?

@Wolf Am I
So PC gamers are going to run out and buy a PS3 just because they can play a crappy console shooter with a mouse and keyboard?

Honestly the sooner this thing fails the sooner we get some more dev time put into Eve.

@smg77

Because no pc gamers already own a PS3, or don't have the ability to go purchase one if they so choose? No console gamers will find this game interesting?

I think its a bit presumptive to assume anything in either case.

Other shooters on the PS3 offer keyboard and mouse support -- I've played Unreal on the PS3 with kb/mouse. I don't believe I've heard a lot of screaming about imbalance.
But then, I don't pay much attention to console gaming.

CCP needs to take a history lesson:

Shadow Run allowed PC gamers and Xbox360 gamers compete vs eachother. the cross platform match makign was canceld because of imbalance created in mouse/KB vs gamepad speed and accuracy. (opinion)

I'm a long time EVE player, then intermittently until finally stopped due to time constrain in RL. I still likes EVE but just don't have the time anymore for a "second job".
During then limited free time, I played LotRO but I developed Repetitive Strain Injury on my left wrist due to being uber main tanking and fellowship/raid kiters (I'm looking at you, Minnie/RK/Hunters/LM).

DUST could have been next MMO for me because I still like EVE, and gamepad doesn't hurt my strained left wrist. I would buy a PS3 and maybe Move+Rifle attachment if DUST is addictive enough. My last console is a Sega Genesis.

Seeing as how USB k/board and mouse is allowed.... oh well, I'm not risking my wrist to be amputated.
Also, this could means DUST PC version could be available but only later after PS3 market have been tested and cornered.

So I guess you cry babies can't afford a console the same price as a single part for a pc (a graphics card). I also assume you've never played something like battlefield and have gone up against a pilot with something such as (Thrustmaster T-Flight Hotas X - 12 button) joystick. Man I can't wait till the day they start banning comfort shoes from the nba.

Now we just have to wait till it fails on consoles, and gets released on PC - seems CCP finally is facing the reality again and taking steps to mitigate the disaster.

Two MMOs ever got me interested for more than three days were Planetside and Eve, and combining them in one world might become awesome

Also, shooting in stations! We don't need no establishments, we need to shoot those pretty avatars in the face!
