Bill Roper's been flying under the radar since leaving Cryptic Studios in 2010. He briefly surfaced as VP of the Marvel Franchise division of Disney Interactive Media Group last summer, and he's now stepping into the role of head of game development.
Roper replaces Alex Seropian, who helped found Bungie in the 1990s before joining Disney when it acquired his Wideload Games studio in 2009.
Roper is a former Blizzard vice president and founder of Flagship Studios, which was mostly known for developing the original incarnation of Hellgate: London.

How the hell does he do it? He has to have pics of some very powerful people in drag or with a sheep or something. Every thing he touches turns to crap. He will death touch the Marvel IP just like he did with Star Trek.

Truer words were never typed. I really thought the man was gone this time. Boy was I wrong!
RIP, Disney's games department.

Dear Bill Roper,
We encourage you to enter a field of employment more suited to someone with your talents. Potential suggestions would be janitorial work or fast food cook. You may also be a good fit for the exciting field of grocery store bagging.
Sincerely,
Everyone.

Good work. I'll give the company 6 months before we'll see the headline of the day: Disney Game Studios bankrupt, closing its doors.
Thanks alot Bill, we trusted you. lmao, am picturing it right now.

Well it is 2012. End of the Mayan calendar and all.
Maybe Disney decided to get an early start and try to beat the rush.

I seriously need to get into a different line of work, it seems like you can only fall up in today's game industry.

On the plus side, his fingers are less directly in the Marvel pie; on the minus side, he has more overall say about it. :(

Well, I feel I can truly say, with the promotion Mr. Roper has gotten, the gaming division has truly become a "Mickey Mouse Operation" !!

It looks like our two favorite old cats we like to take a kick at (That is, Roper and Smart) seem to be making some news this day. Not sure that's a good or bad thing. :(

You can kill Roper but you can never fully destroy him.

welcome to the MMO industry where even you're failed countless projects and being hated by the fans, you will never run out of jobs!
