It seems as if the recent brouhaha over THQ's future was a bit overblown, as were concerns about the fate of the firm's Warhammer 40K: Dark Millennium Online MMO. Our sister site reports that DMO is on track for "fiscal 2014 and beyond" based on a THQ earnings report released today.
We consulted our corporate-speak decoder rings and determined that fiscal 2014 translates to April 2013, which puts the launch window slightly behind the original target date, according to Joystiq.
Last month THQ debunked a rumor tweeted by Kevin Dent that had the firm canceling its entire 2014 catalog and prepping for a firesale.
Gamespot, meanwhile, is reporting that THQ is actively seeking publishing partners for the game.

I'm glad this game is still in the works.

Well good, maybe I will get to play a decent space mmorpg in the next two years after all.

I'd be thrilled if it launched, truly.
But it smells like vaporware.

I'm highly skeptical. I want this game to come to market really bad, but with so much negative press around THQ right now, I think they will have to can it eventually. It takes a lot of money to build an MMO.

If they're actively seeking publishing partners its because they don't have enough capital to finish development.
I hope the game launches, I just wish they would scratch the 2 faction bullsh*t. Its not going to work and it'll be WAR all over again. Make multiple factions and have battlegrounds designed around this chaotic pvp dynamic. Its fun when two sides are fighting and a third comes in, it prevents gridlock or constant facerolling due to population imbalance.
Oh, and make Haemonculi a playable class :)

I will be first to apologize ,but imo since I saw first video about WH40K MMO (like 2 years ago , short video showed on C3 I think?) - this game just feel bad.
Info about this game (2 factions really?) , those small amount of video footage and now THQ problems = afraid that this game might be crap :/

it's easier to Develop than having 26 individual factions, you do want the game to come out at some point don't you?
besides, think realistically about MMOs: what kind of cluster fuck do you think it would have been if WoW had shipped with each race being a self contained faction?
Guaranteed that if the game shipped with each race being a faction, 90% of the players who pick this game up (when/if it ships) will roll Space Marines as soon as it opens, then promptly Roll the other races .... cue game death as everyone who didn't roll one cries foul and OP, before promptly switching sides.

This, this a thousand times this.
I love 40k, but I simple don't see how it can be turned into an MMO without raping the background...

Tell us that they are NOT still planning on going through with their spectacularly disastrous two-faction idea, and maybe we'll care what they do or do not do in 2014. We've recently seen yet another shining example of how poor an idea this is, in SW:TOR's faction imbalance problems - how many more demonstrations will it take to hammer this message into designers' thick skulls?
OH BUT WOW HAS TWO FACTIONS AND 10 MILLION SUBS IT MUST WORK AMIRITE??

This game is going to be SUCH a disaster of epic proportions imo.
You can't make a game while a company's bottom line is sinking as fast as THQ's has been over the last year or so.
