The last time I enjoyed a Mech-type RPG game was back on the c-64 with "Crescent hawk's inception"...that was a long long time ago.

@(Unverified) I remember that game. IIRC, it was Infocom's first game to feature graphics instead of plain text.

That maze at the end can still go to Hell and die.

Yeah! What a great game! I got a kick out of obliterating infantry with medium lasers. :D

It was actually a decent RPG...certainly one of the better ones for the C64. A true classic.

Color me rather intrigued...

It sounds amazing on paper of course though, so the real test is how well this all works out during real game play, and how well classes truly mesh and work together. No one is going to roll Scout/Commander when its more effective to just zerg-rush areas as Assaults. Commander needs to strike a good balance of user-friendliness and capabilities, otherwise it'll just be ignored in favor of Scouts and assault classes moving about.

Ive been playing Battletech (the table top game that mechwarrior came from) and every time i read a dev blog from MWO i get about 100x more excited about the game. This game is what we've been waiting for.

It's been so long since I've had the pleasure of striding around the battlefield in an Enforcer or Atlas; can't wait to do it again and I hope PGI continues updating the IP and focusing on making a video game first rather than regurgitating the board game at us.
