That was a news post about that specific update. Enter at your own Rift is about Rift in general. The new endless trial is obviously big news so it should be mentioned in the chance that there are people who just check Enter at your own Rift and don't read the other news articles. This article also discusses about the Carnival of the Ascended update, which obviously wasn't within the scope of the news article you linked.

Love how people like you and others question integrity of the Massively writers regualy and claim their being paid off by [insert company here] when they write something you don't like or agree with. I trust them when they say they do not take money from anyone. If you seriusly think their taking bribes or cash for comment type stuff why do you still reaf the site?

Offcourse this RIFT lite thing would get mentioned in the "Enter at you own RIFT" column as its big news for the game and comes part of patch 1.7, also talked about in the article.

I played Rift a lot but left for SWTOR. Whilst I am enjoying SW moderately, I do miss the features and sense of polish with Rift. I may not use the free trial but this kind of thing really makes me respect Trion and may make me resub once my SWTOR character completes that content.

No thank you - I do not want to play Rift for free. I want them to improve their party and raid frames. INCLUDING opening up the API so we get good addons to do so.

PUt nohooo. Trion can't be bothered to make the interface better for healers. To much work and to much freedom for players.... Thats the old way of thinking and is coming from Everquest. Some ppl never learn.

Umm check your facts, the API is open and addons are allowed. See Trion does listen to it consumers. That is why it is so highly praised.

API is not open for raid frames and group frames. Get your facts right.

This is a regular column about the game, that was a news post. In fact, as a column it was probably written a few days ago, based on advance information Karen was given. She would have had no way of knowing that the official announcement would happen only hours before this went up.

Why don't they just go free to play and get it over with.

Any sub for any MMO is silly. I dont have a problem buying the box and play forever, like GW. If the game is good people will buy and it's DLC. As awesome as SWTOR is I'm not renewing my sub, I'll just wait till it goes F2P or whatever they end up doing. WoW needs to do the same subs are silly.

So long as they make money for the company (as Rift's are for Trion), subs aren't stupid. I prefer subs as I hate the nickel-and-diming that "free" to play games pretty much have to do. They have to make money, after all.

I just prefer the clean $X/month and get everything myself; I don't expect that most people play more than 1 or 2 MMOs at a time and $10-$15 a month for effectively unlimited entertainment is hardly unreasonable (go check movie prices sometime).

I wish SWTOR has a 14 day free trial, or a 'get to level 10' free trial, like some games. Or perhaps like what Rift is doing now. That's a good idea, and can really help ti sell a game.

I'd drop money on SWTOR it right now...if I could use the trial to see if it actually worked on my system. >_<
