You can mouse-over any header image to see where it's from.

Same! I can't even count the number of times I've seen a cool screenshot in a non-game-specific article and wondered what it was from. A small caption under each picture would really go a long way.

@Saker

And, the title of that jpeg is....."SecondLife" ?!?!?

(Of course, something about Rubi squeeeing, too).

Is that from Second Life? I'd say the color palette matched Guild Wars more (browns).

@ShawnSchuster

Actually, the "alt" attribute isn't meant to display its text on mouseover (many browsers don't), but rather to display text if the image fails to load. In order to get the text to correctly show up when you mouseover an image, you should be using the "title" attribute.

So while IE users may be able to mouseover the images to see their source, many other users are forced to actually look at the page's source HTML to see what it is.

@potaco

Exactly, I have to right-click and then choose "View Image Info".

And it IS from "Second Life"! (Having heard it in the pod cast).

@Space Cobra There's an app for that! No really, both Chrome and FF have. Chrome's is called Visible Alts; FireFox's is called Popup ALT Attribute. Wee little workarounds for the fact that our blogging software is, as the poster above noted, a little antiquated and provides an alt text box but not a title one. We may have mentioned once or twice that we don't have much control over those things, and our writers are writers, not html coders. X.X

The main reason for the alt text from our POV is people using certain RSS readers and text-to-speech tools.

@Brianna Royce There's also Firebug, for when a website disables the right mouse button context menus, or tries to hide the image for some inane reason.

But it is a bit to look at if you're not used to looking at HTML or Iframe scripts.

@ShawnSchuster Hi all - it's from my flickr feed (which proved to be a huge shock as I scrolled back through the posts here to see what I'd missed) and you can see more here http://www.flickr.com/photos/headburroantfarm/5137327248/in/set-72157620864486655

These pictures are from a steampunk western rp area called Steelhead City where I played a badly burnt hermit type who build a log cabin and logging business in the wilds. I actually built all my own things in the game using the seriously easy to grasp tools that Linden Lab give to all players, free or otherwise. I wouldn't class SL as a MMORPG, but many people collaborate to built living, breathing RP areas that can be really great fun. If you've never even been in to have a look around, take a look at Steelhead City to see what Second Life can offer to lovers of sandboxes :)

When you talk about sub prices jumping from 5.99 to 7.99 you are neglecting the fact that it is jumping up 25% in one fell swoop. Just as Ultima Online jumping from 10-13. Yeah 2-3$ isn't a huge deal, but when you look at it jumping up 25-30% in price per month, that is absolutely absurd.

@Maseno

If they kept increasing 25-30% each month, it would be absurd, but that's very unlikely.

If they wanted to hit $7.99, the best way to do it is all at once. Imagine how much worse the outrage would be if they incrementally raised it each month. To a lot of their playerbase, a one-time increase is a lot easier on people than constantly changing it (even if you just consider the psychological aspect of raising a subscription price).

Rubi leaving for a top secret job and you can't tell us what it is yet? This can mean only one of two things: Either you're leaving to run Donald Trump's presidential campaign or you'll join Richard Garriot on a series of zany globe trotting and time traveling exploits.

Bye, Rubi, you'll be missed.

It seems Bree is already fitting in nicely and that has got to be the best story/tangent about the post office ever.

Hey Rubi I am a huge fan of yourself, Shawn, and Justin. I have enjoyed countless hours of your podcast and quite honestly it is my favorite. I know that I don't know any of you but I must admit I was quite sad to hear the end of the podcast and hear you actually say goodbye. I hope that if possible your new job gives you a chance to come by MassivelySpeaking and say hi to all of your former coworkers and fans who will miss you. Good look to you and I wish you well. Keep gaming.
