@(Unverified) Er...the only time the word "realism" has been used in this particular thread is when you used it. Just now.

You don't even know what you said. Here is what you said that I was replying to...

"@Snowblind Thank you. That makes me feel better. 1, 3, and 4 look good. Feminine yet realistic. I hope all the classes will have access to realistic armor."

TWICE you used the word "realistic". This is a fantasy game, realism is out the window.

@(Unverified) You're right. I did a search on the word "realism," and not "realistic." My apologies for the snarky response.

Why do you have to do a search when YOU were the one who said it?

You are the one who want's "realistic" armor, but I guess unrealism in everything else is ok? and what is "unrealistic" about it? If it were ever to be somehow realistic to fight a dragon, I certainly would not want to do so in plate metal, but rather something more similar as to the female gladiator armor in GW1. I would want the freedom of movement as the agility would be more important, and that plate metal would offer no more protection.

And I do not believe for a moment this is only about what you want to wear. I have seen this debate in WoW for years and the same ones that made the same arguments you made would then extend it to seeing others wearing "skimpy" armor and how that was still offensive when it was shown they had alternatives. Not to mention a simple search for GW2 armor designs will clearly show alternatives.

When a game's feature list includes...

1: Graphic decapitations.
2: Nudity.
3: More blood splatter!

..then I figure the game designers are fresh out of ideas.

People want immersive gaming environments, engaging stories and fun PvP and instead we get pin up gals in leather sports bras. I wish the designers would go spend 15 minutes with their porn BEFORE coming into work so that they can get off the sex-fantasy kick long enough to put together some decent models.

Yes. and I wish they'd stop wetting their pants, and crying, at the thought of making some super sexy armor for males.

Which also begs the question: Why would you wear something that you go out and fight in that you would wear going out on a date?

Because you aren't really fighting.

This isn't real, it's a fantasy game.

You could be in a tank if you ever faced a dragon and you would still die if you want to even attempt to talk about realism.

I always found the hypocritical realism arguments sad in WoW when people complained about midrif showing armor when fighting Onyxia, but somehow it was completely realistic for a warrior with a tiny sword and shield to stand up to her.

I don't think your fantasies are the same as mine.
In fact, I'm pretty sure of it.

Also, presuming the dragon has to follow something like our laws of physics - for the sake of argument, I'm willing to give you a pass on a flying creature with that kind of lift-to-mass ratio and energy requirements - I do think that a 120mm APFSDS round might have something to say to it. Or, if the problem is hitting a moving (flying) target with the tank's limited traverse and elevation, then it may be better to employ an A-10 Thunderbolt II (or "Warthog"); a standard one-second burst of depleted uranium rounds (at 3,900 rpm) should be sufficient.

Like I said - you have your fantasies, and I have mine.

Thank you for pointing that out.

There's only so much arguement you can make about fantasies to cover it's inadequacies and inconsistencies to make it believable. But Instead of qualifying, I'll leave you with this link as an example of this:

"Like I said - you have your fantasies, and I have mine. "

And sometimes we share fantasies. A-10 vs Dragon, indeed! Who *wouldn't* want to see that in a game!? :)

So will I be able to post again when this game fails to revolutionize the genre and all the rabid fanbois go home? PVP lobbies? SO DAMN REVOLUTIONARY >:D

Really though? I hate to break it to all the great Massively readers out there, but all that's going on here is Guild Wars is becoming an actual MMO instead of that lulzfest it was before.

Please tell me you just put up a TERA picture by mistake. :(

Ugh. It was bad enough when it was just the elementalist clothes that were all T&A, and now it's all scholar/clothies. Great.

I'm going to play a guardian, so... I guess I should be ready for my platemail battle bikini.

They picked the right demo for this type of visual titillation: the PvP crowd lol

This type of thing usually goes hand in hand with a lot of those players.

Its seems many have forgotten that GW1 was most successful in Europe and most likely GW2 will too. The Europeans are not that scared of nudity, they don't think its the end of the world as we know it.
In a fantasy world with magic you accept that a warrior with HEAVY armor can dodge, jump high and run fast. But not willing to accept armor that don't cover all the body.

Some of us are mad, because it won't be an even split between, what men and women can wear.

We want the guys, to be just as skimpy as the ladies.

They don't have much of a problem with male nudity over in Europe, it's just North America that's scared of it.

@(Unverified) It IS evenly split, even warrior armor can look like that for example the gladiator armor in the original GW.
