Its a dead deal as long as its SoE, I feel sorry for the people who do good work on titles just to have it shit on by Smedbucks etc.

@winterborn i am so sick of it...

do you have any actual facts that lead you to that statement or are you just repeating what others told you? When was the last time you actually PLAYED an SoE title? When was the last time you sat down and actually compared SoE's service to the service provided by other companies in the business? If your answer is SWG, then please spare yourself the embarrasment and just stay quiet...

seriously... it's people like you who give ACTUAL cynics a bad rep... you disgust me.

@eLdritchZ lol i know right...cause there's heaps of better developers out there than SOE, blizzard...ncsoft? I wouldn't trust either of them to make an FPS, SOE are the right people for this job.

@SKYeXile

Honestly? I share the scepticism, and have the affection for SOE that must people reserve for ambulance chasing lawyers.

Like them or not though, SOE are the only company developing a proper large scale MMOFPS for the PC and Planetside 1 remains one of the greatest experiences in video gaming it was possible to have when pitched into a battle on a scale beyond anything any other title could offer.

I'm cautiously optimistic. I remember SOE's screwups with PS. I remember Core Combat. I remember BFR's. But I also remember hot drops of full platoons from teams of Galaxies, columns of tanks rolling into battle, fighting in battles that raged for hours.

And frankly, if I can get even a small bit of that sheer awesome back again, it'll be well worth the price of admittance.

You obviously need to take your pill and get out of the basment for some fresh air.
Been playing since EQ1's begining as well as SWG and EQ2, so nice try spaz.

Smedbuck's stench is well known.

I fear that this game is getting too 'feature rich'. In an age where games are about providing stupid little featurettes that tittilate one bunch of tards or another, I just feel that if PS2 goes down that route it's losing everything that the original game was all about.

The thing I loved about PS (NC:7th Corps Forever!) was that it felt like a pared-back game. It was an online FPS without much else except a bit of character progression by way of battle ranks, command ranks, and that was pretty much it. In other words, there was no bullshit.

From what I have heard from the latest releases, there's a whole bunch of chaff. For example, does anyone think that putting an ornament on your car is really worthwhile in-game? And is it newsworthy?

Anyways, just my two cents. I'm really hoping that PS2 is the true successor to PS. But please Sony don't make a complete bollocks of it.

Haven't had a chance to listen to this yet, but I hope when the article talks about removing mainenance stuff they aren't talking about things like ANT runs, base repairs, etc. Those things added much needed depth to the game, and made it so people who might not be the best twitch gamers could still greatly contribute to their team's success.

Although I do NOT plan to buy this title at all, I hope this game does EXTREMELY GANGBUSTERS business.

I hope it surplants every other PvP game out on the market drawing a LARGE portion of pvp players to the game from other games.

Please PS2.. be good. Be very good... /pray
