What @avaloner said. Crafted gear, faction gear from Shimmersand and Stillmoor, drops from normal mode Abyssal Precipice and Charmer's Caldera, and Chronicle drops will get you a long way.

Also, if you know some decent people, they won't mind taking someone who's lacking slightly in the gear department, as long as you can pull your weight (at least if you go as damage - healing or tanking will be harder). My relatively fresh level 50 warrior in mostly quest greens and planar blues was taken along to expert AP (well before random dungeons were introduced) and while I didn't do the most damage, that run got me some very nice upgrades which just made it that much easier to get groups I wasn't really ready for ;)

Its good that Trion is willing to make big changes like they are for this patch. They seem willing to give almost anything a go to make their game better (cross faction mail and AH + PVP mercanarys). Unlike some devs if something is not working right they try to fix it and are not affraid to make big changes in a patch and not an xpack (they get alot of flack for this sometimes as sometimes they have been known to take things a little to far).

I suppose its one of the reasons Trion seems to have alot of respect in the industry even by other MMO devs. People can rage against RIFT or Trion all they want but they can't deny that Trion has not given it their best. If respecting a company because they have a can do attitude and try their hardist to please their customers with rapid content development makes me a fan boy then so be it.

@real65rcncom If you were going to fix anything, I would have thought spelling 'mercenaries' correctly would be higher on the list.

buffing t1 was needed, too much good content wasted as everyonewent straight for t2

@KTrell Totally. I have a rogue alt in crafted gear sporting the stormbound set weapons and even with just that T1 rewards would just be wasted effort. I really like the T1 dungeons a lot, but with my limited game time they're just not worth the time.. with this new system however, I'll get to see more of RotF, IT and KB, so I'm really looking forward to that.

@drginger If it didn't have enough content for you, at Trion's pace, just wait around for another few months, then re-sub and you should have *2* new zones to explore. From what I've seen on the PTS runs Planetouched Wilds is looking more and more fleshed out, and that area will be at least as large as Ember Isle, if not larger... and EI is already chock-full of minigames and side quests, I can only imagine what Planetouched Wilds might have in store for us!

I wish every MMO had developers team like TRION - not lazy CCP with their "soon" attitude and miriads of un-finished features within EVE - or stupid Gabe Amatangelo / Bioware who doesn't know how to make non-frustrating PvP and balance factions population in SWTOR + cross-servers warzones and/or free transfers from low-pop servers.

Also could be nice if TRION made sci-fi MMO. Really tired of medieval entourage after 14 years of gaming.

Actually from all accounts SWTOR PvP is pretty enjoyable as it stands, faction imbalance aside. Mechanically speaking its working.

I resubbed last week. Jumped on for a quick daily or two, ended up losing 6 hours.

Started with an instant adventure -- 7 quests to get my 3 daily inscribed sourcestones. Port to shimmersand, get our 7 quests done...then invasion. What the heck, stay around... finish the invasion, then someone says they have the daily rift lure...so we move to do that, then we form a mini-crafting raid to farm mats... then a guardian group opens a pvp rift infront of us... TAUNTING us to stop them. well that can't stand, so we enter into some spontaneous world pvp that ended up moving to stillmoor while we chased that group.

Spontaneous activity in the open world through player interaction -- this is why Rift is the best MMO on the market today. They take simple stuff, and tune it and refocus it week after week until it just flows.
