As Darkfall "sprints" down the road toward its second incarnation, bloodthirsty PvPers are looking to Aventurine for more information about how their favorite game world is being remolded. Tasos Flambouras came forth today with word that not only is the project still powering forward, but the development team is growing as new hires are brought on to assist in the efforts.
Flambouras uses the post as a progress report and To Do list all in one. Perhaps the most exciting teases that he mentions are new methods of progression in the game. "These are significant and exciting changes to the way the game is played because they add more purpose to player freedom," he writes.
Currently the art team is adding and revamping many of the game's objects and animations, while the world builders are hammering away at Mahirim. As part of Darkfall 2.0, introductory dungeons will be integrated into the game to help newbies get a foothold in the cutthroat MMO.
The team is also experimenting with "alternatives" to player respawn time after deaths, as well as a brand-new market system and improved trading experience.

This is the same Post they made a year ago. We are being lied to and eventually the neglect of darkfall 1.0 will cause them to lose all their current subs . Which in turn leaves them broke and without any hope of finishing darkfall 2.0

I wonder what will happen to Darkfall 1.0 when the second version of the game releases. Will there be character wipes or what?

Any news of the character wipe happening or not? I would be half tempted to try this game out again if they cleared all the previous characters.

Looks like another stall tactic, same thing was said a year ago. What's going on with this game and company?

@MMOaddict In their Jan. 13th blog post, they said, "We’re in the process of getting a few quality dedicated people in strategic positions and roles we were forced to handle ourselves up until now. The new hires will improve our project management and production, our publishing, marketing and communications processes, and will augment our development capacity, while freeing up key personnel to focus on their main roles."
I read that as, "We're trying to hire some management that has some idea of how to run a company, because we have no idea how to." I suspect their problem is a lack of focus and direction, but that's a total WAG on my part.

After reading their blog entry, it sounds like they're making solid progress. Still waiting, but its good to hear progress is being made.
Disregard any neigh-sayers who claim "same old stuff" or whatever. Its a massive project that takes time, and the company isnt great at communicating with its playerbase. Just be patient.

From the title I was expecting more than, "We're continuing to show up for work. More to come. Soon....."
They hurt themselves by announcing 2.0 and the possibility of wipes too soon. They should have gotten further along and worked out the details, before making any announcement.

upside to the low volume on the servers, is that PVE'ers can actually expect to finish a farming run without getting robbed/killed nowadays. 8) never been a better time to PVE it up in Darkfall.

Sigh.
Saw the title out of the corner of my eye and misread 'Adventurine' as 'Adventure Time'. Went from :D to :( to 1 second flat.
Man.... now I want an Adventure Time mmo......
