Yeah and the one that is being tested for Arenanet is sooooo much cooler though it won't be free.

@Dunraven
Everything we've heard about the GW2 app so far indicates that it'll be free. I'm not sure it's as extensive as this one, but one of the big things generating positive buzz when it was first announced is that they don't intend to charge for it.

@Irem That isn't the impression I got at Gamescom I was led to believe they were going to charge for it but it would have very significant free add ons.

The fact that it alerts you to zone events is actually pretty neat and extremely useful. Even more so that it's actually free.

RIFT didn't really click with me, personally (oh how I tried, though), but I have to give Trion kudos for all the support they continuously do for the game.

That is pretty cool, I might actually have to sub up for a month just to check this out.

I've been using the IOS app. It's awesome.

More features like an AH viewer, character/bank viewer, access to other chat channels etc would be awesome...er?

But it's still awesome. lol

@hami83

It does offer real-time guild chat -- for free. No additional fee necessary, unlike another MMO that won't be named...

THe mini games are basically scratch&win lotteries, with random chances of winning some minor loot (crafting materials; planarite; inscribed sourcestone currency). Cooldown resets every hour, and you can build a queue up to 6 plays while you sleep overnight.

I recently resubbed after the free-to-play weekend. I had stopped playing in October, and i'm shocked how much content they've added in a mere 5 months!

In b4 the RIFT haters somehow convinced that this is a sign that the game is dead or dieing.

To bad I don't have anything capable of running this app but I guess it shows us how Trion is trying to further intagrate social media and portable media into their games. I hope they keep working on it as It will be interesting to see where this type of thing is in a few years time, maybe you could even play RIFT on a mobile device:P

I love how a little icon shows up next to guildees names when their in chat letting me know they're not online but using the app.

My cell is a flip held together with tape, so no apps for me but I love how it makes it easier for us all to keep in touch :)

Dammit.

I mean, this is good news. If your phone is running Froyo+... but if you're on Eclair that's below the cut-off point. So you'll see it on the market, but won't have the option to install it. :(

When I originally got my phone Motorola promised they'd update it to Froyo, AKA Android 2.2, but it's been over 2 years and it hasn't happened, and considering Ice Cream Sandwich is on its way, it really looks like my phone is a fossil.

I'll have to see if I can just run it through SDK. or sideload it somehow.
Or just wait out the rest of my contract and get a phone with better support... maybe a 'google experience' phone..

I don't find scratch n' win games especially fun to play, but for the price they charge I'm not going to complain. Earning a bit of planarite or sourcestone is a nice way to kill time on the train to work.

I really hope they add a character viewer in the future.
