I, on the other hand, have been playing MMOs for fourteen years, and am loving every moment of SWTOR. It is far from being my first, and it will it be my last, but while it is here, I am enjoying it.

Most commenters on the internet really need to learn that it is okay for different people to like different things. Just because someone likes something you do not, that does not mean they are either inexperienced or stupid. (And also just because someone does not like something you do, that does not mean they are necessarily trolling.) It just means they like different things than you. It is okay to like SWTOR, or any other MMO. (Yes, even WoW.) Most people need to learn that and get over it.

Also, as others have pointed out, Rakghouls have been around since KoTOR nearly 10 years ago. They were part of the storyline then, and it is only to be expected that that story thread be carried on in SWTOR, as most of the other KoTOR1/2 subplots have been. I'm actually surprised and impressed by how many continuations of old story elements from the first two games there are.

Well said. Finally someone with an objective view on things. Too many people quick to spout out their negativity. Nice to hear someone with some sense now and then.

Yeah, I'm another guy who has been playing MMOs since EQ and I'll be playing SWTOR for a while. Is the gameplay innovative? Not really. Still pining away at GW2 for that.

But the voicework is great, the talent trees are pretty good, and I'm having fun being a Jedi. MUCH better experience than SW:G was at launch, omg... And I'm taking a more relaxed single-player approach this time around after being burnt out on the WoW raiding scene, so maybe that has influenced my laid back approach.

I just think people are upset because they actually believed the hype that was fed to them and are mad at themselves for it now. It's The Prequels all over again. Just take it easy with the next release guys and you may enjoy it more with lower expectations.

I think for some people its a revenge of the nerds scenario with WoW and now SWToR. Get trashed as gay or a loser or w/e for liking mmos. MMOs become popular with non nerds, nerds try to trash casuals. Its totally understandable even if I choose to be more constructive and just avoid talking about ToR because its too casual and themepark for me personally and I'd rather avoid the drama.

The whole thing is pretty standard niche culture colonized by mainstream who insulted it for years stuff. Kinda like punk and pop punk and all the drama there.

You can kiss goodby to fun in SWTOR.

The era of meters has come, and short lived era of fun, and community is over.

Welcome, to the Metrc nightmare SW fans.

Is the cost of SWTOR $200 million speculation or documented fact?

You know Im pretty sure EVERY MMO had its fair share of birthing pains. As perfect as WoW is and has never had anything bad ever happen in it's 10 billion year history, I can see how nerd rage can happen. Its a new and frightening thing to have to wait for servers to let you in, or when hundreds of thousands of people try set up subscriptions at once and something temporarily goes awry.

p.s., Lady Gaga is ugly and her music is terrible.
