I've still yet to encounter any kind of remotely game-breaking bugs, and have only encountered a couple of the trivial variety, but then I live a sheltered life.

@Lenn

They had a guild launch program, so they had exact numbers on the number of guilds and players way before launch.

They also had polls on the website since 2008 asking what faction you were going to play, Empire severely out numbered Republic on every single one.

The fact Bioware refuses to even acknowledge population balance or apologize for it is mind-boggling. The lead pvp dev needs to come out or get canned.

IMO it is ridiculous that they would "take action against the worst offenders" of a system that THEY PUT IN PLACE.

If they can't care enough to wipe everyone's valor (yes it is a bit harsh but from the sounds of it, much needed) then they should really just not give a donkey piss about enforcing any random punishment for those they see fit.

@Maseno

Yes! Punish everyone regardless of guilt! Great idea, and sure to go over well with the playerbase:P

I'm glad that people are reporting the bugs as they affect them, but I disagree with those on eg the official forums who complain about people who don't suffer from those bugs commenting on them and "invading their threads". It's important for the devs to see who has the bugs and who doesn't, specs-wise, and that may, for example, have played a part in the devs discovering that the current problem with ability cooldowns is primarily related to dual-core users.

@(Unverified) IMO it should be split down LS/DS rather than by faction. that would be a little more fun. Grey characters would be left out though :(

@Fiasco

Well, there is no "Grey" in the game officially yet. So that's a bit of non-issue.

But Grey does go well with my drapes. ;P

Bioware is quickly becoming a doormat when it comes to policing exploiters. In the future when exploits are found the playerbase will not hesitate to take advantage to Biowares 'sweep it under the rug and deny deny deny' policy.

I can't get through the story lines fast enough so I can get this sloppy mess off my hard drive.

Dear gaming community,

Please learn how games are made, what a "development cycle" is, the timelines involved, and what exactly a "beta" is.
Also take this time to understand how work...works, and that working with dozens of teams is how things are accomplished, not some powered individual who can seamlessly create content.

Thank you,

Sincerely,
The Game Industry

@Beltyra : "..and what exactly a "beta" is."

That's when you give people a free preview of your bugs, to build hype, before you release them, right?

Fair enough. I think Bioware has been reasonable with their responses to these issues.

Honestly, I am a bit surprised by the level of venom against them on these issues.

The game is good. Is it the end all game? No, but I don't think there could be one end all game. At least not for me.

All games on massively are the subject of venom, it seems.

I suppose the same could be said of every community about every part of the internet, though :\

@Zantom reasonable as in deny, blame players, deny, blame players some more, deny, draconian censorship, deny, deny, release PR video of unrelated stuff, deny, deny ,deny? and then after they've run out of excuses, "oh hey yeah, we just noticed that that problem exists, we're working on it"
