Why would we want to shut up and stick our heads in the sand? Bugs are bug, and must be corrected. If anything the bugs have gotten worse since release, which is annoying to be sure.

If you don't complain about the unacceptable they will assume we don't mind the bugs and will go on to other things, and bug fixing will go on a back burner while the resources are send on to work on more releases (buggy releases).

Sorry, but that is unacceptable. So no, we won't shut up.

@Celtar There's complaining using the right channels, and then there's creating thread after thread after thread on the forums, filled with loads of frothing at the mouth and threats of quitting, and posting fake "I have been banned" messages.

My guess is they need to wade through the latter first to get to the constructive former before they can start working on those bugs.

There is a reason I do avoid the forums. :)

Fucking morons, more like it. BioWare is addressing the problem of ability delay for you. If the fix was so easy, go apply for a job with them, I'm sure they would LOVE to have your expertise so you can fix major game systems so quickly for them.

Only way to make them listen and actually do something is to make it their problem, you do that by bombarding the forums until they get concerned about negative publicity and are forced to fix it.
Unfortunately thats how this works.

And these are the types of things a $200 million game shouldn't launch with.

I'm really happy they're fixing it (it annoyed me in beta and was one reason that stopped me from purchasing it at launch), but seriously, for $200 you shouldn't have a problem like this in your game.

Exactly, why I am constantly baffled. And when I hear comments like "this is their first mmorpg" I roll my eyes as well. Are you serious with that comment people?

Do you think no one working for them has worked on another mmorpg, or was a player of an mmorpg themselves? Even if they were total noobs to the genre, if your spending 200million or even 50million on making an mmorpg, it is in your best interest to do research.

Or to hire someone to do the research and let you know what "is" expected by players of that genre of game, so that you aren't doomed to repeat the same errors of other chuckle heads.

Seriously it is like Bioware read the Evil Overlords manual on how to screw up by the numbers when it comes to game mechanics development, customer service, communication, arrogance, delusion and how to not follow through. Otherwise known as we know what we're doing and we know it so well that no one can tell us what to do or how to do it.

Vainglorious hubris is thy name Bioware, lets hope that Bioware's collective has as group epiphany before they end up yet another year later failures. :( Honestly unless they do get a clue they are doomed to be one of the great "Could have been" games.

@edgecrusherO0 But you do not know the cost of this game. It is very easy to listen to analyst after analyst, privy to absolutely ZERO actual data, who says this game cost $80/100/150/200/500 million.
You do not know this. So, you can argue all you want about a game launching with issues or not, but don't drag the amount of money involved into the equation until you know what amount that actually is.

@Celtar RIFT was Trion's first MMORPG and look at that game. While both can be called theme park clones - the difference in quality and attention to small details is light years apart - in RIFT's favor.

@(Unverified) Rift also got to work for themselves with their own IP and could make up as much as they wanted. Not that it excuses stuff, sure, but RIFT was done being developed long before public beta and didn't have the pressures of release that the PUBLIC gave TOR, let alone EA stockholders and Lucas.

We all demanded this game out to be done before it was ready, because we all REALLY wanted to play a Star Wars MMO. So yeah, it's rough for now, but I know I'm still having fun and in 3-6 months from now it will be an even better experience.

I don't understand the "why" behind people wanting something to be bad, rather than wanting it to get better and help them get there...

We are very much in agreement on that. It amazes me honestly that Bioware didn't bother to learn some lessons from those who came before.

@Beltyra I'm sure TOR would have been way better with another year of work - but it is what it is and this is what we've got. No what ifs. By the time the game has all the basic features it should have launched with a lot of the 2012 mmo's will be coming out and it's going to hurt because of that.

I'll believe it when I see it. Too bad the game is horrible either way and Biowares handling of their community is downright sickening.
