They're "looking into it".

As much as I like the game, BW screwed the pooch on this one.

Yeah, I really like the game as well. The Ilum changes were just poorly thought out. I just spent yesterday pvping on my alt. The new bracket (11-49) was fun.

I think they should really bring in some of the PvP guilds that have a long history in MMO's. Talk to them. Listen to them. See what works in PvP. What doesn't. Some great ideas out there but they are lost in all the screaming.

Basically, do what CCP does. SOE and Blizz used to do this also. They both stopped and that's when I think their games started to get away from them.

@Yellowdancer

There is little to no chance this will ever happen. I am not even sure BW is that focused on the PvP aspects of this game. As it has been said many times before, this game is like a single player RPG with a co-op ability.

Just a fail all around imo.

You can almost see the article, a year or two from now when SWTOR is making the epic mountains of cash many hoped it would, and has earned the grudging respect of the vast majority of mmorpgers - 'Ray Muzak Looks Back on SWTOR Teething Troubles' You know? He chuckles when he thinks about incidents like this and the interviewer grins and we all grin and someone, maybe Flintlocke, says, 'Welp, that be all fer now. Join us next week fer news about the news on the announcement of the release date of the next patch.'

I think I missed where the sarcasm was supposed to be evident in this post.

I know it sounds like I'm taking the mick, but I'm genuinely not. Apologies to Jef or anyone who reads it and thinks I'm being pissy. :)

@pcgneurotic That's interesting. I can almost see the article, a year from now, when the game has tanked and the studio is bankrupt and LucasArts is suing EA and EA is countersuing LucasArts and Muzak. :P

@Borick You sound like you know you're stuff man. What are next weeks lotto numbers? I'm quitting my job right now. But you'll definitely come through...

...The sarcasm should be pretty evident in this post.

There are 2 things happening here.
1 is an exploit with turrets that respawn instantly and give valor.
The second is the placement of the spawns. As of right now, if you die, you only have the option to go back to 1 spawning spot, but this spot can be camped, thus you respawn and are instantly killed again. Rinse and repeat. There is no way for you to get away. There is no immunity. There are no guards or terrain keeping the enemy back. So, they camp you and you can't leave, or do anything about it.
Bad situation.

@valdi313

The only way to escape it is to queue for WZ and then afk in the start area because when it boots you for afking in start area you get sent back to the fleet station.

I just want to stress one thing is....
the faction imbalance is not the issue here. On a 1v1 faction game, there will always be a faction with more people.
The issues here with HORRIBLE design choices (re-spawning system and spawning spot) and exploits in Ilum.

When I first heard of Ilum during the beta I was really hoping they would make something that reminded me of Star Wars Battlefront. This crap reminds me of WoW zones except much worse. The people responsible for this bullshit of a zone should be liquidated.
