@(Unverified) Yawn. Man, the hardcore Blizzard fanboi idiots are getting easier and easier to spot.
Must be tough, knowing that WoW has lost more than 2 million subs the past year already, and knowing that that drain will be far, far higher this year as well :-)

Balanced PVP?? You'll have an easier time finding the Holy Grail, Golden Fleece, and the Arc of the Covenant all within the next 15 seconds than you will of ever balancing PVP... there will *always* be something.

I was telling my guild this was going to happen since i read the patch notes, No-one agreed with me.

Faction imbalance will always leave illum unbalanced unless they do it more like wow does it's open-but-instanced-world-pvp-zones. This just isn't going to be much or a pvp game. Bring on GW2.

@Zethe

Yup only stuff like Wintergrasp or Tol Barad will help with the imbalance issue. Last night on The Fatman, it looked like that expect that we eventually pushed them back to the catwalk. There, people just sat there and just killed anyone who wanted to take them on. Pretty smart because anyone who walked too close just died in AoE. And all the tank classes were putting guard on all the casters and then going afk. In my screen shot on the previous page, you can see the grey names that are dead and not moving.

Wow, Bioware makes a mistake and the haters come out in FULL force (with Jef writing the article). Big surprise. NOT!

Yes Bioware screwed this one up big time. They will put in a fix and we will all move on. PVP is only one aspect of this game (Yes I'm Republic and yes I'm on a PVP server).

Current issues aside, I find it typical and petty that Jef only posts negatively slanted articles about SWTOR.

Give it a rest, we all know you don't like it. Go back to Kheshatta stew in your own pve fail.

The sad thing is, its just not the pvp system that is broken. Nearly every aspect of this game has been poorly designed and implemented. Here is my list of things I've been through that will more than likely have me giving up on playing yet another MMO...

- Clunky UI
- Reliance on Companions
- Generic questing, no escort quests, no problem solving quests, no interactive epic quests, just kill X....collect Y....click on Z....THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE GAME.
- Layout of Quest hubs not optimal. Players have to run back and forth long distances for 1-3 quests, then move on to the next quest hub....sometimes quest hubs dont lead into each other and players completely miss out those quests.
- Sound effects...mainly the damn footsteps of amateur $%#%^. I am running around in a lush environment (jungle/city/desert/etc) and all I can hear are the sound of my footsteps? what idiot designed this?
- No LFG tool, no LFG channel....
- No dual spec...in addition to this and no LFG tool its difficult to find healers and tanks....nothing new was added to this game to help solve this endless issue of MMOs
- Barren worlds....my journey from 1-50 apart from the first 2 starter worlds I believe I ran into maybe 3 republic players...and just a handful of empire players while questing...this MMO is lifeless
- Too many load screens
- ability delay
- button mashing pvp
- chat bubbles
- no purpose to crafting
- gear progression is too hamster-wheel

- Clunky UI
It does the job. I happen to like it. It's nice and clean.
- Reliance on Companions
Not really a bug. That was a design choice. Furthermore, this was known way before release.
- Generic questing, no escort quests, no problem solving quests, no interactive epic quests, just kill X....collect Y....click on Z....THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE GAME.
I've had an escort quest. I've had puzzle-solving quests. Play it some more, maybe?
- Layout of Quest hubs not optimal. Players have to run back and forth long distances for 1-3 quests, then move on to the next quest hub....sometimes quest hubs dont lead into each other and players completely miss out those quests.
Funny. Most would say the game is too much on the linear side (including me).
- Sound effects...mainly the damn footsteps of amateur $%#%^. I am running around in a lush environment (jungle/city/desert/etc) and all I can hear are the sound of my footsteps? what idiot designed this?
The sound of your footsteps changes according to the surface. Not amateurish at all. Quite cleverly done, actually. But yes, I would welcome more ambiant sounds as well.
- No LFG tool, no LFG channel....
Convenient, most definitely, but the lack of it is not really something game-breaking. It's a good bet they're working on it, though.
- No dual spec...in addition to this and no LFG tool its difficult to find healers and tanks....nothing new was added to this game to help solve this endless issue of MMOs
Dual-spec is a crutch. Learn to walk without one.
- Barren worlds....my journey from 1-50 apart from the first 2 starter worlds I believe I ran into maybe 3 republic players...and just a handful of empire players while questing...this MMO is lifeless
Pick another server.

etc.

One of the few things I agree on are chat bubbles. We need those.

what's amazing is instead of rolling back everyones gains of valor on the one side that used this exploit (and yes it was an exploit) they are sweeping it under the rug like no one will notice. What are they game devs or politicians?

@(Unverified) They are not sweeping it under the rug. They are investigating it and will take action. Read the update on the forum.

Ok for those of you complaining about the ratio - umm...roll Republic, form groups, form guilds, organize PvP excursions- actually do something on your server community to help the situation instead of just bitching all the time.

Those of us who can fight love being the underdog, as numbers are overrated against a well coordinated squad in an open PvP area. Will you get rolled sometimes by the zerg? Yes. Is it totally worth it when your two guild groups wipe out 20+ Imperials who 'think' they are about to own you? Absolutely.

@Valant Problem is that at least on some servers, most players from DAoC rolled imperials, and they are probably among one of the most pvp hardened groups of people around. There are entire alliances on the same side and same server cooperating with teamspeak/vent/what have you... No random zerg no matter how big will win against that.

@haters,

Fine, this Jef person has gotten you all frothed up - now calm down & go play whatever floats your boat. Lots of us enjoy the game and are patient enough to give it time to get past the teething problems.

Just unsub & move on - this is not the game you are looking for...

I already canceled my sub- It's not just PVP, crafting system is poorly integrated, class abilities, graphic quality, and the faction/class imbalances (not even touching population)... latest patch addressed some of the ability delays; but the whole game reeks of 'released too soon'. I don't know what deadline they were pushing for; but BW has more resources invested in ME3 right now than SWTOR.

If it wasn't for the story line- it'd be DOA already.

The problems go beyond launch bugs... its design flaws and a complete failure to use the Betas to address them. I agree- a full rollback and/or re-release in 6 months and a rollback might salvage this game... otherwise it'll be another Aion for me... (which I have never bothered to go back too).

@unverified I'm sure Aion still has followers too- but is it thriving?
