@Traptz
Are you for real? This has to be sarcasm...

In development Beta for a year, (not open beta) as in, it had people who werent getting paid to play it. THAT IS ALL.
Did you really say that the game is exactly like the last build of the beta? Ya know, like, a WEEK before release??

Do you even know how games work? Go take 10 minutes and research how the game industry actually, ya know, makes games.

Stupid change when there is no faction balance, my server is 5-1 in favor of Imperials for population, no way we can win anything on Ilum with those numbers.

@bobfish Yea, Rift had the same problem when i played. The Defiants overwhelmed us in numbers so any open world PvP was usually a joke and questing in the high lvl free for all areas was dangerous for Guardians. At least in the Warfronts it was automatically balanced in team numbers and we could usually hold our own... some times

Warhammer quote is spot on. It has the same fail (quoted as best in the world) team from Warhammer.
From a pvp perspective
Warhammer was a bunch of great ideas poorly executed.
SWTOR boring and old ideas borrowed from other games poorly executed. Its an awesome 1 player rpg though

Every game with hardcoded factions suffers population inbalances, why do producers continue to push on with it?

Let players choose to be good or bad and face the consequences from either the community or implement some sort of faction based penalty or reward.

murderer/crim flags in UO were great.
As too was the faction system in EQ.
It opens a whole world of immersion for the player.

Why can't they allow a ratio balance on that planet? You know allow players to enter planet based on the ratio.

@canex502 How would 3 factions solve population imbalance?

@Stellar25

Three factions help by letting the two smaller factions gang on the most powerful one.

Only works if the most powerful is still weaker than the other two added together, though. A 5:1:1 faction imbalance would still be quite bad with a 3-faction system.

I'm coming to see rigid faction segregation (i.e., choose factions at character creation or shortly after, no easy way to change factions) as one of the most sure ways to kill World PvP; I have yet to see a single such faction-based game where faction balance was achieved.

More so if you throw rewards in the mix; players then go for the reward, and overwhelmingly roll on the already "winning" faction. They want to win, not to play.

I'm usually never one to defend EA but they had NOTHING to do woth game design, patches, etc with WAR or SWTOR. Do some research before laying blame. EA PUBLISHED them.

@canex502 And how exactly does three factions result in equal numbers? What its going to take is a queue for the imps. That pretty simple measure should annoy enough people to reroll Rep.

With people getting to Valor Rank 100 through the use of this exploit, I can't envision any solution other than a rollback.

As controversial as it is, that seems like the only way.

Not putting their best foot forward right now. Their damage control on this is going to be really important. It couldn't of happened at a worse time. Free month is almost over.

Exploit, you say? Sounds like Bioware has quite a few suspensions to dish out.

read the update

basically....they deny there is a problem, no rollback, they wont do anything about those who have been farming alts for 2-300 a kill for hours upon hours, imperials are free to trivialize battlemaster status.

go farm Ilum now, tomorrow they will probably hotfix the valor gain after diminishing returns + the valor buff with all objetives taken, and pretend it was like that since the beginning

classic BioWare so far, play deaf and never, ever, admit you were wrong
.
well, its their game, and they have all the rights to kill it if they want to do just that

Personally I love the changes to Ilum. Is it perfect? Course not. Gonna take a lot of tuning before that will ever happen. But it's a thousand times better than it was last month.

I mean seriously? Standing around trading capture points for easy champion bags and NEVER fighting the other side was waay worse. The only people who say it's worse now are just lazy and shouldn't be pvping in the first place.

At least this way they're encouraging pvp. And it's a lot more exciting seeing 100 hundred players engaging each other in large groups.
