Forget this game, its made from stolen code of what Lineage 3 was going to be originally.

Lineage II for life!! That is, untill Darkfall 2.0 finally comes out.

@(Unverified) They stole a code that they created.

They do have some pretty visuals going on with the Unreal III engine though.

I don't care about all the hate. Now that we know it'll be releasing before I'm a hundred years old, I'm excited. I've been wanting to play an MMO game where skill trumps gear for years, and I'll finally have the ability to do that now. Not to mention I'm a big fan of their design style, mixing eastern elements with western elements so that it's not entirely either. It looks very sleek, and I hear that when you're playing within the country where the game's servers are, it runs great and reaction time is on-point - which as we all know is extremely important for games where you must aim your attacks.

Of course there's always a moderately high chance that an MMO will fail, but as the first AAA title to offer this style of combat and to this extent, which moderate gore, tons of unique armor sets which are race-restricted, plenty of races and classes and the reactionary AI scripting - this game has a real chance, despite all the naysayers, to be a sleeper hit. If it comes out and is as good as it could be, like all good games who rise to fame it could catch on quick. I have no personal experience within this game, so I cannot vouch for it and only know what I've read from my extensive 2 1/2 year continuous research, but assuming there aren't some major holes in its design or some sort of glaring technical oversight, I have a pretty good feeling about this.

Cool. Will be interesting to how well it holds by the end of the year when I actually would consider buying a newer MMO. Pre-launch day purchases just aren't my thing anymore.

Until they get rid of the race of little girls there's no way in hell I can touch this game with good conscience.

Grown women in peekaboo armor? Distasteful, but I'm cool with it. Little girls? DIAF.

To be completely honest I'm more than a little creeped out by this game.

@Nenene Eastern culture romanticises youth. A lot of people can see these ''little girls'' and smile because they are cute, full of life and energy, contrast the other races, and are able to make the player feel protective of their character, without feeling any sexual desire towards them.

@Stilllove and one more thing - they are more representative of femininity then a lot of the current western ''socially derived'' models of ideal females

Tera is going for the title of most failed launches across all territories.

As I understand it, this is yet another Asian port which is not going to be available in Oceania. Any news to the contrary? Or is it still "En Masse if you're North American, Frogster if you're European, GTFO if you're Australian" ?

No NZ AUS serves as of yet, but the game should be completely playable when connecting to west coast US servers.

Tera did not fail in Korea, they had an open beta which attracted more concurrent users than AION did - they added servers, then people had to start paying - they subtracted servers.

Just to let you guys know - the average elite in this game is more dynamic and difficult compared to the average dungeon boss in a lot of current MMOs

@Stilllove : so there is confirmation that although there is no publisher for the Oceanic region, the North American publisher WON'T be blocking us for licensing reasons (like Vindictus)?

@(Unverified) Yes officially confirmed (for a loooong time now)

Nexon is a very different beast, and they have their reasons for doing what they do.

"Father?"

"Yes son?"

"What will be the big draw to Tera?"

"Breasts son, Big breasts."

@Graill440

I don't know anyone who's ever played a video game for breasts.

The draw for many, like myself, are the true action combat that places a high emphasis on player skill, and the flashy visual design and art direction. The fact that there is a bit of gore doesn't hurt, either.

I can only afford (more like "justify paying for") so many subscription games each month. Personally, I'm going to just skip this one and hope ArcheAge turns out.
